Agnus Dei

Within the walls of the Monastery of Santa Cecilia in Trastevere, in the heart of Rome, a centuries-old tradition is renewed every year: in January, two newborn lambs, after being adorned and blessed, are entrusted to the care of one of the cloistered nuns. The woman cares for them with the tenderness of a mother, looking after them and feeding them. The presence of the animals has a specific purpose: with their wool, the nuns weave the pallium that the Pope wears on June 29, the solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul. In the Holy Year 2025, while the ritual is being performed, the Pope suddenly falls ill.

Climate Art - From Protest to Utopia

CLIMATE ART explores how contemporary art engages with the climate crisis. Journalist Leonie Sontheimer visits influential artists like Olafur Eliasson, Sebastião Salgado, and Agnes Denes, whose works inspire new perspectives—from Europe to the Global South. The film also questions the sustainability of the global art world, challenging its reliance on travel, transport, and large events. It reveals how artists are turning climate anxiety into creative resistance and activism. Included is one of the final interviews with Brazilian photographer Sebastião Salgado, who passed away on May 23, 2025.

Empty Alcove

The Blackboy Clock, which incorporates a wooden blackamoor figure in its design, was originally assembled by a Gloucestershire watchmaker in 1774, during the height of the transatlantic slave trade. Relocated to a specially constructed niche on the front of a former schoolhouse in 1844, the clock has undergone restorations in 1977 and 2004 and has remained a constant presence throughout Dan Guthrie’s life in Stroud. Empty Alcove is one of two newly commissioned videos that put forward the ‘radical un-conservation’ of the clock—a new theoretical concept proposed by Guthrie to describe the acquisition of an object with the express intent to destroy it. Central to this new body of work are questions about what society chooses to memorialise and how we do so.

A.A.A. Offresi – Work in progress

On the evening of March 12, 1981, in the Rai Due studios, Marina Morgan announces that the program A.A.A Offresi, a film about prostitution, it will never be broadcast “at the formal invitation of the president of the parliamentary steering and oversight committee.” This time, however, his announcement is interrupted by a group of military men, wearing ski masks, who barged in the studio to read live on national tv the script of the censored film, convicted as the “body of evidence”.
