Everyday makeup (I feel fantastic)

In facing the lens and addressing an intangible audience, the face on the web becomes a disturbing mirror of its own growing dehumanization. Everyday makeup dissects this artificial mask by discovering the raw and pulsating matter of which it is made. The digital image is gutted and broken down, finally revealing its atom, its pure essence: the pixel. This autopsy process of the internettian non-body thus allows us to go back to an aesthetic root in which thought is not filtered and in which entertainment is reduced to an inevitable colored chaos.

The Fortress

In the final days leading up to the Colombian national soccer finals, Jorge, a young man from the northeastern Colombia, travels 1,000 miles across the country with his friends to see his native Bucaramanga’s soccer team. Proving their commitment as loyal fans, they travel by illegally hopping onto tractor trailers to attend the most important game of the season — one that promises the team a chance to return to Division A of the Colombian professional soccer league after eight years in Division B.

R: Rest

~ Here; come, restore, replenish, relax. Crafting a better world is not an easy adventure. Rest with me. ~ An experimental documentary exploring the meanings of rest: political, spiritual, tied to labour, associated with guilt. The film is Chapter R of April Lin’s long-term project, "An A-Z of Imagining A Better World", and serves as a reminder of rest as a structurally-negated necessity, a muscle worth training, and an essential strategy in the process toward liberation for all.

3 Letters to Tsai Ming-Liang

Letters sent from an imaginary post-capitalist time. One day I received a surprise phone call inviting me to spend the summer in Taipei. I had just mentioned the word "Taiwan" in a discussion a week earlier without really knowing why.The idea came to me to make a film about desire, the only way - I thought - to film not the reality a priori, but something underpinned by truth. Not the addition of the words but the movement they form by weaving the meaning to the music.

Hilos de sororidad

The tale of the project 'Yarn against sexist violence'. From the origins of the Harituz association in Astigarraga (Basque Country) and guided by its protagonists, it describes the meetings, stories, actions and voyages at home and abroad. In this project, knitting is the vehicle which unites very different women, who become knitters in the fight, and who stand up to sexist violence from sisterhood. The Yarn, an enormous collective bow in progress, which is already more than 6 km long, is a space of symbolisation, where every stretch represents a life taken by sexist violence.
