In Nordestina, a small town lost in the Brazilian badlands, young Karina dreams of becoming an actress and leaving to explore the world. Before losing his love, Dona Nazaré’s son, Antônio, takes the first step in a kamikaze crusade to bring the world to Karina. For that, Antônio leaves town and announces, in a TV show that he will set off on a sensational adventure: a trip into the future, starting from Nordestina’s square. A story where dreams contradict reality, geographical and political conditions threaten to block life, and love plays the part of the transforming element.

Over nearly 20 years, filmmaker Carlos Nader lived with the Paraná truck Nilson de Paula and his family. From the beginning, the project was to conduct a documentary whose intentions become viscerally, a process also captured by the camera. During this period, becomes the lives of Nilson, who gets sick, his wife, Jane, and his only daughter, Liciane, as well as the director, who happens to be part of this circle also affectively. Major issues such as the meaning of life, are incorporated into the very fabric of the film, which oppose excerpts from the classic "The Word" (Ordet), Carl Dreyer, highlighting aesthetic and existential connections.

Jerry is a tutor at an orphanage. On the first day of vacation, the boys go to the beach with Professor Teobaldo and find a skeleton and a treasure map. Word spreads and a rush for gold begins. On the one hand, Jerry and Neyde, television colleagues; on the other, the director of the station, Indalécio, and his lover Aphrodite; finally, the evil Rock Trombada, in the company of scientist Bertini and Daniel. On Treasure Island, the three camps promote mutual sabotage. After many confusions, Trombada flees with the treasure to the ship's cemetery but they are surrounded by the boys and Indalécio. It's the final war. But it is Jerry who will take the wealth in order to improve the situation at the orphanage.

"Lula, 'bon vivant' who subsists at the expense of small blows, goes on with his life without a present or future purpose. Basically, he just tries to forget having been abandoned by his fiancee Helena, who gave in to his father's imposition. The situations in which he gets involved from then on are paradoxical, trying to survive in the best possible way and spending money he doesn't have, but which comes to him in one way or another. On a day of complete despair, Lula meets a group of "hippies" and leaves catechized. Willing to anything, he becomes a preacher of new customs and new ethics of life. In turn, Helena, whose marriage had failed, dreams of meeting Lula again, hoping to return to his arms.

A man gets home and finds his wife dead. In a silent impulse he takes her body and plunges on the road. This man had never left his hometown, Brasília. When his wife dies, he leaves pushed by this emotional collapse, and submerges the road and it’s fortuity, searching to reconstruct his own reality. She survives in his memory. The road and its environment play an essential part in this man’s process: the landscape and the people, spontaneously. The Sun Against My Eyes follows this trip, from the countryside plateau to the fluminense hills.
