Preparations for the "100 years of Lünen police station" anniversary celebration are in full swing, an event set to conclude with a tribute to outstanding investigative work. An honor the team surrounding Brandt and Wiesel might be worthy of considering their latest case: bar owner Robin Bürger has been found dead in his cooling chamber. The investigation proves to be increasingly complicated as everyone affiliated with it either tries to hide the truth or plot against one another. Soon, Brandt and Wiesel are certain that all of them are two-faced. How right they are with that assumption and how deeply the case will come to affect their own lives are the questions at the heart of this 5th "wieselflink and brandtgefährlich" film.

A short film in which a magician performs close magic and cardistry to camera. The title of the work, The Unreliable Narrator, could be understood simply as a warning to be cautious, like a pre-emptive nudge signalling that care should be taken as to who or what is believed. As someone whose stock in trade is the art of deception the magician conjures a narrative that we knowingly enter into even though we understand it is false. However, throughout the film the position or identity of the named narrator is left ambiguously open, bringing attention to the sleight of hand and potential duplicity of not only the magician but also the filmmaker.

After all, a bear is only cute if you’re not a rabbit. The animation resembles landscape shots from animal documentaries—but instead of Smokey the Bear we’re served pointed humor, instead of glossy nature, the images are rampant with sprawling absurdity.
