In Between Time

Teriberka is an ancient Pomeranian camp on the shore of the Barents Sea. Since ancient times, people lived here. They were not afraid of the long polar night, nor of the winter blizzards and storms, nor of the barrenness of the stony earth and sand. Only by sea it was possible to reach Teriberskaya Bay, where the first artels of Pomor fishermen settled on the sandy shore. At the beginning of the 21st century, Teriberka lost its status as a regional center, turning into a dying village with a surreal landscape. The taciturn inhabitants remained devoted to their native Land, which is divided and sold behind their backs, evicted from their homes and deprived of fishing. But the sea gives them inner freedom. Without looking back.

But people live there. The film tells the story of the dramatic transformation of Shoina-a thriving fishing village-into a dying village, almost completely buried in the sand.

Eternity

An absurd landscape with a form recirculating in its narrative tradition is transformed by the artists into interdisciplinary statement about loss of a message, impossibility of a dialogue, labyrinth of meanings. Monotony of action inclines to multitude of associations: myth about Sisyphus; Frieda of Bulgakov, who is constantly offered a handkerchief; grown-up daughter of Stalker, roaming in the Zone which gives neither fulfillment of desires, nor relief. The authors slowly immerse viewers into multilayered space, where surrounding reality is dissolving, and so is human sight, which rediscovers itself on the border in searches of initial static point. Such creative exercises can also be marked by rather expected desire to arrange knowledge and understanding of cinematograph in contemporary context of visual communication and conversion of created work into completely different, unexplored quality of the art.

Симфония органа

One of the symbols of musical Moscow, the heart of the Great Hall of the Conservatory, is the historic organ of Cavaillé-Coll. It was created in the 19th century, and was first heard in 1900 - at the World Exhibition in Paris, where it represented Russia and won the Grand Prix. A year later, the instrument was installed at the conservatory. Since then, he had to go through a lot of events that undermined his health: wars, revolutions, flooding ... Restoration, carried out in 2014-2016, revived the creation of the French master Aristide Kawaye-Call to life. The film, created on the basis of unique filming inside an organ, demonstrates the restoration process and offers to look at the instrument as a living organism - a breathing giant with a thousand voices.

Kolokol

The bell is the only musical instrument used by the Orthodox church, and its connection with the Russian spiritual culture is incredibly strong. In 2016, popular techno-producer and DJ Philipp Gorbachev had been trained by a bell-ringing master and later became the bell ringer at the St. Nicholas Church in Aksinino. Being influenced by Peter Mamonov, Moscow-based electronic musician believes in the spirituality of the Russian dance floor. This film is an attempt to reflect it through the prayerful experience of the modern bell-ringer, who hides the red mechanic jumpsuit, Gorbachev’s usual clothes for sets, under the monastic robe. Following Philip, the camera tries to find and capture in detail the fragile atmosphere in which the sound of bells becomes a source of divine revelation and turns people into brothers and sisters.
