Une chaîne pour deux

Victor Granville, owner of a bicycle factory that bears his name, learns that he is seriously ill and hands over his SME to the New Deal group, a large company mainly active in communications and media. Corinne, a young executive at New Deal, is appointed head of Granville to restructure the company and eliminate one of the two production lines. In order to choose "fairly" which team of workers will keep their jobs, she sets up a competition between the two lines: the one that produces the most bicycles will be kept, and the other team will be laid off. Jean-Paul and Bruno, the two line managers, have no choice, but they vow to avoid dirty tricks in order to preserve their friendship... Is this possible when they have to save their jobs and those of their team?

Je flotterai sans envie

"Je flotterai sans envie" (I'll Be Floating Without Any Desire) is the third in a series of works about Arno, a twenty-year-old who I met in June 2006 and with whom I fell in love. My feelings not being reciprocated, I suggested that he participate in a project that would allow me to see him on a daily basis. "Vosges", a five-minute short film, focused, in a one-scene shot of a young man walking with his back to us through a forest, on the notion of desire and how to capture it. "Compilation, 12 instants d'amour non partagé" (Compilation, 12 Moments of Unshared Love) is like an attempt at communication and seduction through listening to songs, and questions the amorous gesture and its impact. In the third part, I wish to confront the crystallization with which I've experimented, its effect on my gaze, during Arno's many absences, to confront his words, sense his perception of an entire summer spent being in the shoes of someone who refuses the love of another.

A vodou memory

Marianne Lehmann, born in Switzerland in 1936, married a Haitian and moved to Port-au-Prince in 1957. Fascinated by voodoo cult objects, she began with buying them to avoid their scattering abroad. Over the years it became the largest collection in the world to be donated to Haiti. The film shows the beauty of these objects, their significance and importance to the world's cultural heritage and highlights the link between voodoo (Haitian vodou), the slave insurgency and the creation of the first black nation.

The End of Animal Reign

Noël is a different kind of man. He has maintained a state of innocence. His apparent non-conformism springs from his intuition, sensuality and, above all, his deep attachment to nature and its elements. People treat him like the village idiot and his one source of refuge and understanding is a little girl. Even Olivia, the local teacher with whom he falls in love, has trouble understanding and accepting his behavior which she considers primitive. In a state of despair about living in a world where there is no longer a place for the animal reign, Noël winds up committing an irreversible act...

Chroniques vietnamiennes

Thi Bach is of Vietnamese origin. She arrived in France at the age of 15 in 1975 and has lived there ever since. Guillaume Mazeline is the grandson of André, an officer in the French Expeditionary Corps who fought in the Indochina War between 1948 and 1950. In May 2005, the two of them took a trip to Ho Chi Minh City, where Thi Bach grew up, then to Hanoi and the surrounding countryside, where André spent two years. They went in search of traces of their past. Extending the narrative, the Vietnamese people they meet talk about their memories of the war and their hopes and concerns about the evolution of their society. This Vietnam and that of the Indochina War are the contexts for the filmmakers' questioning. Both revisit their identities: that of a grandson confronted with his grandfather's colonial experience, and that of a Vietnamese woman who has now become a French citizen.
