Climate change has reached the indigenous Nenets people in the north of Siberia. The nomads' herds of reindeer move on thin ice. The warming in the Russian Arctic is becoming dramatically visible. Huge craters open in the thawing permafrost and expose dangerous viruses and bacteria. Forest floors dry out and the taiga catches on fire. The pack ice off the coast is melting and depriving polar bears of their habitat so that they approach human settlements in their desperation. The changes in the nature of the Arctic Circle combine with the measurements of researchers and observations of the indigenous people to form a disturbing overall picture: In the Russian Arctic, Pandora's box has been opened! The film team had the chance to shoot in regions that were been restricted areas for decades. The documentary shows in impressive and depressing images already existing effects, phenomena and ominous interlinkages of global warming.

Through unique access to the peace process and inside the FARC, it is the guerrilla soldiers’ inner life that this poetic documentary explores. The war has lasted so long that the causes have begun to be forgotten, and when the peace process leads to the disbandment of the FARC, it becomes more important than ever for guerrillas to film, write down, and track material about the inner life of the movement so they can own and tell their own story.

History of a Tree is a portrait and the subject is both a living non-human organism and the territory that it has lived in for a long time. The work has the ambition of becoming part of the field of portraiture, a fundamental component of the course of the whole history of art, rewriting, however, the nature of the subject, the methods of development and the technique of expression of the portrait. In fact, in this project the subject is a non-human living organism that is portrayed through moving images and sounds that have been localized in space, which then show the portrayed subject as an ideal witness to almost a thousand years of the history of an entire territory.

Aguante is a documentary about the Puerto Rican battle against gender-based violence. It is a story about the impact that machismo culture and a complex history of colonialism in Puerto Rico has had on generations of women. Economic, political, and natural crises of the recent past highlight women’s vulnerability to violence. Aguante shows that while gender-based violence is seen in intimate partner relationships it is enabled by social conditions. But Aguante also tells another story: the island of Puerto Rico has a long history of women's liberation movements. And feminist movements have persisted in the past and today to change legislation and topple governments as they combat gender-based violence but also the central issues of the island’s governance.

A virtual office room is furnished and inhabited by Mascha B. and digital colleagues. The film ends with a mise-en-scène: while the final rendering builds up on the computer screen, the aria „Barcarole“ from the 1881 fantastic opera „The Tales of Hoffmann“ plays. In this opera the hero, Hoffmann himself, hopelessly falls in love with the almost perfect creation of physicist Spalanzani, the mechanical puppet Olympia.

In Pharaonic Egypt, animals held a special place. Venerated, they were sacrificed to serve as intermediaries between their tutelary deities and mankind. Countless animal mummies lie in ancient tombs. Still little-known, this rite is the subject of international archaeological research. In Middle Egypt, Melanie Flossmann and her German-Egyptian team are excavating the labyrinthine corridors of the Tounah el-Gebel necropolis, once attached to a temple dedicated to Thoth, the god of the moon and knowledge. Thousands of ibises and baboons, the deity's sacred animals, buried in terracotta urns, litter the underground galleries. Researchers have discovered that some specimens contain simple piles of linen or incomplete remains.
