Dragon Quest Fantasia Video is a direct-to-video live action production of the Dragon Quest series that was released by Enix in 1988. A silent reinterpretation of different elements of the Erdrick trilogy games set to various music from the games composed by Koichi Sugiyama and performed by the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra. The video was planned and produced by Toshio Okada, who was then the head of anime studio Gainax, who worked on the movie's special effects, and Tohokushinsha Film.

This time around, the overall theme is “S” which stands for succession, success, and special. There are seven shorts, all produced by Ryuhei Kitamura. Included are the shorts Tuesday by Kenji Sonoda, Heaven Sent by Ryuichi Takatsu, Blouse by Hitoshi Ishikawa, New Horizon by Ryo Teshima, Suberidai by Yuichi Abe, Alpha by Daisaburo Harada, and Suit by Masaki Hamamoto.

During the 1980 Gwangju uprising in South Korea, a Korean man and a second-generation Korean-Japanese woman meet during the student activist movement. Tamayura: Graduation Photo Part 1 - Kizashi

As Fu and her friends begin their third and final year of high school, the photography club gets two new members; freshman Takumi Shindou and sophomore Suzune Maekawa. Thinking about what to do after graduation, Fu decides she wants to pursue a career combining photography and travelling. Afterwards, Fu's family tell Fu about the time she took a picture of her father and first learned about "tamayura" from him. Later, as Chihiro and Tomo pay a visit for the Bamboo Festival, announcing that they plan to study abroad after graduation, Fu is shocked to learn that Riho is planning to leave town. During the festival the next day, as the girls get to see Kanae as part of Sayomi's explorer's club, Fu is approached by Riho, who explains she is going to Tokyo to open a gallery with her friend. Thankful for everything Riho has done for her, Fu promises the carry on her torch in pusuit of a career in photography.

Unfortunately, the time needed to visit the shogun in Edo for Masaatsu Naito is 8 days. Masaatsu Naito also learns he received the order because a high ranking government official wants the gold mine. Also, the expense for Sankin-kotai is high and the Yunagaya Domain is such a small han that it seems impossible to complete. Nevertheless, Masaatsu Naito begins an unexpected operation to complete Sankin-kotai in 5 days.

March 20, 1995. As Tsurugi Tatsuhiko, head of the hospital's emergency center, walks down a deserted corridor before the start of treatment, nurse Hoshino Nao comes up behind him and starts talking about dealing with late-night emergencies. At the same time, at Kita-Senju Station on the Hibiya Line, Sonoda Naoki, the driver of the A20S train from Kita-Senju to Nakameguro, gets into the driver's seat and performs his usual duties, such as inspections. With Sonoda at the wheel, the train starts moving. However, the passengers gradually start coughing, and some even become ill. One of the passengers presses the emergency button, and the train stops at the next station, Tsukiji, for a check. For some reason, the passengers' feet are wet... When the train arrives at Tsukiji Station and the doors open, passengers who are feeling unwell tumble out onto the platform. When Sonoda came out of the driver's cab, he was shocked by the sight before his eyes...

This OVA premiered at the Jump Festa Anime Tour 2009. Between the Prologue - Land of Waves and Chunin Exams arcs, Team 7 is waiting for Kakashi, who is late again, to start a new mission (B-ranked as Sasuke states). The team sets off while Kakashi explains that Genmai from the Inaho Village is missing, who has vanished in the hills.
