Saint Nikolai the Serb

Exciting life story of Saint Bishop Nikolai Velimirovic is intertwined in the movie with the most important events of the 20th century, in which he was a direct participant. The events on the turn of the century, the Balkan conflicts, World Wars I and II, the coming of communism, led Bishop Nikolai on schooling and doctorates in Europe, missionary work, humanitarian activities, quelling of hostile propaganda towards Serbia in London, work on the formation and strengthening the church in America, spiritual guidance of the church in Serbia, imprisonment and suffering, even enslavement to the infamous concentration camp Dachau. Often more respected abroad than in his own country, Bishop Nikolai died as a refugee in America. Left behind him were tomes of books with thousands of pages, and so much more.

Wagner - Lohengrin

Wagner's Lohengrin is the mythical tale of the mysterious Knight of the Grail, who appears to defend the princess Elsa - wrongly accused of the murder of her brother. Highlights of Wagner's most lyrical score include the famous Wedding March, which accompanies the marriage of Lohengrin and Elsa. Superstar tenor Jonas Kaufmann ("currently the hottest tenor in opera" - The New York Times) makes his role debut in this performance from 2009 and filmed in Munich. He is joined by German soprano Anja Harteros - a former winner of the prestigious Cardiff Singer Of The World competition.

Auf der Suche nach dem Glück

Our own 20-minute film documentary accompanied the public relations work of the HIB ("Homosexual Interest Group Berlin") from 1977 onwards, for example at a GDR-wide lesbian meeting in East Berlin in 1978. In the HIB there was a cameraman with his Super8 camera, a recently graduated television director, a script team, an actor, someone to carry the camera tripod and the will to capture our work on film (Peter Rausch). From 1973 to 1979, the "Homosexual Interest Group Berlin" (HIB) operated in the capital of the GDR. Its core objective was to create a counseling and communication center for queer GDR citizens (the term "queer" was not yet a term of the new emancipation movement at the time, but it did form the basis of the HIB's work). Film clips in Super 8 format soon became part of the HIB's presentation. At the time, Bodo Amelang had compiled further clips as independent small film contributions in a "kaleidoscope".

Haus und Kind

Bernd Neubauer is a pleasant man in his mid-40s - he plays away five or six years effortlessly. But the two women in his life put him in strange situations. Or in desperate ones. It seems it's not the professor who's putting up with a waitress, but she's putting up with him. It seems he is also dispensable at home. In the end, Bernd and Lena have bought a house in the country, but Else Maschke, who has lived there since childhood, has lost her retirement. Melanie is expecting a child and Lena is also pregnant. A merciful end is needed, but is there one?

Thomas Maurer - Menschenfreund

Thousands of sharp jokes aimed at those in power, hundreds of personally signed petitions, countless charity performances for a wide variety of good causes, numerous charity wine auctions, and several hundred liters of beer personally consumed in support of Ute Bock's refugee aid project: Thomas Maurer's record as a do-gooder is undoubtedly impressive. Who could blame him for gradually developing a certain longing for a slower pace of life, serenity, and his own garage space in the house? Because, of course, mental space is the most important thing. But a spacious apartment also has its advantages. What could possibly be the problem?
