The Skyhawk

Master Wong (Kwan Tak-Hing) and his disciple Fatty (Sammo Hung) are paying a visit to Thailand when they are assaulted by a hot-headed street fighter dubbed “Little Lion” (Carter Wong). Meanwhile, Wong’s friend Chu is facing trouble from the local crime boss, who’s trying to seize control of Bangkok’s lucrative shipping business. Wong urges his friends and students to seek a peaceful resolution to their problems, but when the bad guys attack Fatty’s sister (Nora Miao), the master agrees to take up arms.

This video tells the story of a controversial mural painted on a Los Angeles building in 1932 by Mexican artist David Alfaro Siqueiros. Depicting a Mexican crucified on a double cross, the mural represented Siqueiros' strong statement against U.S. imperialism in Mexico and the treatment of Mexicans in the U.S. Shortly after Siqueiros returned to Mexico, the mural was whitewashed by Los Angeles authorities. Nearly forty years later, two Mexican art restorers investigate the now faded mural and discuss the possibility of its restoration (the Getty Museum has announced that it will refurbish the mural in 2005-2006). The video also includes interviews with a then 74-year-old Siqueiros and other artists who worked with the great Mexican muralist.

L'accalmie

At thirty-three, Philippe, an actor who has turned to Commedia dell'Arte, has reached an age where everything he believed in is being called into question, his family life as well as his professional life, and even the importance he attaches to his masks, an importance that may be derisory. His life appears to him without embellishment, without any romanticism. He has taken refuge within himself. He is more alone than ever. The island on which Philippe has landed echoes the same everyday elements, but in an almost mythical, sometimes caricatural way. We encounter characters buried in their little lives, whose hopes and concerns seem futile. Then, in these clouds, in this mist, a lull...

Hallo Berlin

In this film, the camera rediscovers West Berlin in a lively and surprising way, with refreshingly unconventional, sensitive, and spontaneous images. Ingrid Steeger, the well-known Berlin television actress, cycles through the city as a poster sticker and, as a "cute Berlin brat," spins a tourist orientation thread with charm and wit. Another Berlin veteran accompanies her: Harald Juhnke maintains contact with the viewer as a commentator in a conversational tone. This film is a charming invitation to West Berlin that is hard to resist, because this city is a lively metropolis: spacious, green, romantic, and lovable.
