Kunju Lakshmi is the youngest daughter of the aristocratic Kavumpattu family in Peruvannapuram. She is pampered by her brothers and is a little arrogant. The family owns the local college. Sivasankaran comes to the college as a peon to replace the Padmanabhan who fails to give the promised donation to the Kavumpattu family in return for the job. In the meantime a love note that was written for Kunju by a classmate ends up in her book and she accuses Sivasankar of writing her the letter. Kunju gets into a fight with Sivasankaran. Her brothers join the fight and Sivasankaran declares that he will marry Kunju in 15 days.

Businessman Gopinath abandons Shanti, his first love, to marry a rich heiress. Later, Bharath, Gopinath and Shanti's illegitimate son, seeks revenge from him for the injustice meted out to his mother.

He is betrayed by his cousin Devan (Madhu) which forces him to go into exile. Years later Udayan returns to Kolathiri to take his revenge.

A post-master named Dilip Kumar re-locates to work in Mutharamkunnu. Once there, he sets about to meet the local residents and finds out that they are obsessed with wrestling. He meets with a proud and retired wrestler, Kuttan Pillai, and subsequently gets smitten by his daughter, Amminikutty. When he finds out that she an ardent fan of Mammooty, he lets it known that he is the latter's close friend. He intercepts her fan-mail, and even corresponds with her.

The film was a remake of the 1986 Malayalam film Gandhinagar 2nd Street starring Mohanlal and Karthika directed by Sathyan Anthikad. The film is a mixture of comedy, romance, sentiments and affection. It was a profitable venture for Vivekananda Film Circuit K.Padmavathi.

The story of an Indian girl falling in love with an American in 80s USA.

Poornima, a widow living in Ooty leads a peaceful life with her two sons. Jaishankar, a tourist who visits the place gets tempted and rapes her. In the act, Poornima dies leaving her two sons who witness the murder.
