The truth, however, is elusive due to the passage of time and Taiwan’s flawed judicial system. Masked gods and human figures move together in a ceremonial structure, staging a timeless vision of human experience. Premiered in 1993, Nine Songs became one of Cloud Gate’s most important works. A studio fire in 2008 nearly caused the piece to be lost, but a surviving ceremonial mask remained as a trace of its legacy. This film records the production before the fire, preserving its original form. Moving across layered time and space, the choreography creates a powerful, immersive atmosphere. Through moments of wonder, grief, and ecstasy, the work unfolds toward a state of clarity and quiet transcendence.

“The passing of time would be meaningful and memorable only when something happens.” Commissioned by Chiayi Art Museum, the crew revisit locations where photographer FANG Ching-mian, known as Uncle Hsin-kao, shot 70 years ago in Yushan (Niitakayama). The story of Uncle Hsin-kao and landscapes is told by interweaving a variety of climbers, scenery and Bunun Narration. The narration implies the presence and absence of certain characters in Taiwan history. Through the off-screen voice, a layer of discourse is created with the narrator's role, Bunun's lines, and the images. The absence of the indigenous people in the history of photography, the presence and revisit of the crew, the reports and postcards created by Uncle Hsin-kao reveal a poetic story between Uncle Hsin-kao and landscapes.

Lin, a young boy bullied in school. Classmates accuse Lin's father of being a serial killer since he caused a hit-and-run accident several years ago. Fei Lung kills his boss in a mining accident. After serving a jail sentence, he returns to his village and finds his former girl friend married to Ju Hu. Ju Hu has gambled his family's fortune. He then sells his house and land for more gambling money. He loses it all, after being cheated, and is then beaten to death by gangsters. Fei Lung is captured and framed for Ju Hu's murder. He is taken to jail but escapes. After a bloody fight with three gangsters, one of them confesses to killing Ju Hu. There is a tremendous battle between the police and the Gangsters. The Gangsters are defeated and Fei Lung's enemies are killed.
