Was Once a Hero

Ginny and Little Bit are in trouble. After their father and only living relative is murdered by a gang of outlaws led by an increasingly unhinged marauder named Chance, they've been on the run. Narrowly escaping death, Ginny has only her wiles and her love for her little brother, as they make their way across an unforgiving landscape fraught with sheer danger. As she struggles with the painful memory of her father's murder and the utterly overwhelming guilt born from killing the man who was hell-bent on her rape and torture, Ginny is out of options as the wolves are relentlessly closing in. Things change for the children when they cross paths with Major Malcolm Hunter, a one-time war hero and lawman who's now been reduced to an old man with a failing memory. They form an alliance and make an attempt to reach the town of Black Ridge, where they could all be saved. Will Malcolm and Ginny have what it takes to find this place of refuge that may or may not even exist?

Loose Ends

Loose Ends follows a single charged night in and around a neighborhood bar owned by two estranged brothers. As a chaotic party spirals out of control, a web of small decisions, old grudges, and quiet resentments pulls a group of interconnected characters toward one another. A petty crime sets the night in motion, triggering tension between the brothers just as unresolved family issues bubble back to the surface. Meanwhile, party goers navigate their own turning points-moments of honesty, impulsivity, vulnerability, and self-sabotage. Across overlapping story lines, the characters collide in ways that reveal how easily relationships fray-and how difficult it is to tie things back together. By the end of the night, each person must confront what they're running from and decide whether to cut their loose ends or finally face them.

Tiny Movements

Jenn Green, a professionally trained modern dancer, mother of two, discovered a file full of video recordings of her husband raping her, after he had drugged her with high doses of Ambien. The videos' time stamps reflect that the abuse had been going on for over four years. As in many instances of domestic/intimate partner violence, it took Jenn an extended amount of time to organize extricating her children, and herself. Once they were out, step by step, with incredible community support, Jenn took the initiative to seek an order of protection. Once in a safe space, she began a daily practice of dancing in her kitchen, calling on her years of movement training and practice to create space for healing. Jenn filmed her daily practice and created an Instagram account, "Tiny Kitchen Dances", where she posted her daily dance, an offering to herself, sharing her path with others.

Promise to Stronger Days

Promise to Stronger Days connects two different, evolving storylines. The main storyline is about Adira’s internal struggle to hook up with Jerome — an attractive man who rescued her at her friend Keke’s birthday party — after months of having no sex due to her trauma. The other storyline is fragmented at first, but her truth is pieced together: Adira was sexually assaulted by her father after being left alone with him due to marital issues. Adira becomes increasingly frustrated with her inability to connect with others due to her trauma, until she decides to take her power back. After a few failed sex attempts with Jerome, she intentionally returns to her childhood flashbacks to kill her abuser.
