4 Flights of Stairs on the Right

Dr. Jürgen Wenter and the pretty Marianne Müller are both looking for a room. They both come across the same advertisement: "2 furnished rooms for rent." Since neither wants to back down, they view the apartment together. It belongs to old Mr. Döhring, who insists on renting only to a married couple. So they pretend to be one. Jürgen sees no danger in this, as he is already engaged to Dagmar Prinz. Both of them intend to drive the other out as quickly as possible anyway. The petty squabble goes well until a friend finds Marianne more than just nice, and Mr. Wenter realizes he is jealous. A huge fight ensues, which ends with the two falling in love. But with the help of old Mr. Döhring, the complications continue for quite some time. Finally, after an embarrassing confession from the old man, the two become a "real" married couple.

The men, who are so different, become so close that one day Pieper asks the young man for a big favor. Arnold has a capricious and rather volatile daughter named Lale, who, in his opinion, gets up to a lot of mischief in Europe. To put an end to this, Pieper quickly asks Richard to marry Lale, who is unknown to him. In order to make the marriage attractive to him, the fat old man also offers “prize money” of $5,000, which the poor student could really use.

Sea Urchins

Underwater photography, magnified close-ups, and film through microscope present the sea urchin, a complex creature. We see their mouth and five teeth close and open. After injecting one with gelatin, the shell is removed and we see the muscle structure, digestive tube, and reproductive organs. Magnified stems reveal suction cups; stems lengthen and contract allowing the sea urchin to move. We see microscopic calcareous stems; at their ends are jaws with various uses. Cilia everywhere are in constant motion, stirring up water and debris. African music on the soundtrack suggests a shuffle dance.
