He came to look back on his past and began to vaguely figure out the reasons of his confusing life. His wife who left without any notice, Moonsoo who still hurts in his heart from what Namo did to him 7 years ago, the town mayor who chose suicide after telling his lifetime secret to Namo, and Artist Namo himself who is still confused about his exhibit topic, the dog eating shadows, through which he wanted to describe a dog that eats a person's hope by eating his shadows. Namo went back to Beijing and was faced with the reasons of his confusion...

44 studios in Mangwon-dong, Seoul. An uninvited awakes people in the morning. The omnibus film "roooom" preaches the irresistible power of love and desire. It links the stories of four people in one space. However, the multiplex housing, a Korean housing type different from American hotel rooms, allows of a different type of story. It is a building manager to weave them together. He gets snaked, trying to get rid of a man illegally occupying his girlfriend's room, is visited by a mysterious woman, and witnesses the challenge and frustration of a young man dreaming of a rosy future. There are no common themes in the four episodes without the presence of the manager. "roooom" tells the verisimilar stories about ordinary people, but they have their skeletons in the closet.

The Remnants

In October 2015, the evicted residents who had imprisoned on a false charge of killing a policeman assembled in a place for the first time after the Yongsan Disaster six years ago. They had occupied a watchtower against unreasonable redevelopment policies and in protest against violent suppression used by riot police in 25 hours of their sit-in demonstration. Their colleagues had died from an unknown fire, and they became criminals. The delight of meeting again lasts only briefly. The ‘comrades’ rip out cruel words while blaming each other.

A girl works part-time at a bowling alley. She either cleans the bowling balls or waters the plants, and nothing more. There is not a customer here. The girl encounters three people: A Cheon, who has lost his job; Bo, who comes to pick up coffee cups at 2 everyday; and Eddy, who cannot play the cello anymore. Each of them has his or her story but the girl does not know why they are here and why they end up leaving. However, the reason is not important to her because just like them, she cannot tell why she is here.

The Goose Goes South

Woozoo visits Osaka to finish his business as his boss Dae-jung has gone missing in a ship accident. On the last day, Woozoo chases someone looking exactly like Dae-jung. He ends up losing him, but the guitar sound draws him to a small bar, Pier 34. Its owner, Snow, somehow reminds him of Dae-jung and listening to his music brings back memories. After passing out right there, Woozoo misses his flight back to Korea and then quits his job on a whim. He soon meets Haruna who learns guitar from Snow. And he decides to stay at Pier 34 till he finds Dae-jung.

The film is propelled by a performer who lip-syncs to melodramatic songs, immersed in otherworldly make-ups and hyperreal images of Korean landscapes. The lyrics adapt wordplay and self-loathing satire with wry humour, reflecting the irony of living in a society built upon the histories of colonialism and the cold war. From a Korean patriotic tune lamenting an ill-fated love for a country to a children’s song set in a sci-fi dystopia, the film composes an anthem of a neocolony.

Numerous startup companies launched products for “New Bleeding.” Over a million viewers are visiting pages of sanitary-products-reviewing youtuber, and politicians start to talk about the blood. The walls of information collapse, and women choose their own way of “how to bleed.”
