L'oratore

Felice is a twenty-year-old boy from a working-class neighborhood. He buys a grand piano with money from a loan shark and with the help of Noemi, a young girl of the same age he met in the library, he plays in the squares of Campania for passers-by and tourists. The security guard Enzo, after an argument, destroys his piano into many pieces. Chased by loan sharks, he finds himself in the back of a church. He is given a jacket and tie and is sent to the altar in front of the dead man's relatives. He begins to make a speech in commemoration of a deceased person he doesn't even know, but the words flow spontaneously, cleanly, moving and exciting. After that speech he will become the funeral boy, the orator.

Fuggiamo lontano

Developed with ten students from JFK in Monselice, drawn from their second and third year high school classes specializing in agricultural and computer science, Fuggiamo lontano (Let's Run Away) is a film based entirely on archive material that tells the story of a journey through four stories of teenagers who imagine going to the place of their dreams with a loved one by their side: their dog, their brother, their mother, and their friend. The voices of Sara, Matteo, Serena, and Alessandro intertwine with seemingly distant images, triggering a space-time collision in which feelings explode out of time.

From Land to Sea

The documentary explores the intimate and political story of the participants of the Global Sumud Flotilla, a civilian and non-violent mission that in September 2025 attempted to bring humanitarian aid to Gaza, amid the siege and genocide perpetrated by Israel. From the harbour to departure, the film recounts the preparation of the largest civilian humanitarian mission by sea organised for Palestine. Alongside the mission, the Italian mobilisations that emerged around the call “Blocchiamo tutto” (Let's block everything), launched by the dockworkers involved in the Flotilla, come to light. Amid drone attacks, demonstrations, rallies and institutional promises withdrawn when needed, the journey becomes a concrete metaphor for the will of peoples to overcome the limits and hypocrisies of the international community.

Homo Sive Natura

In the remote forests of eastern Cambodia lives a community of indigenous inhabitants. An unnamed forty-year-old businessman arrives with seemingly selfless intentions: he claims he is merely a tourist seeking to discover the life of his “brothers”. In actuality, however, he is gathering information for the possible expropriation of their land. Italian globetrotter Giovanni C. Lorusso lives up to his reputation as a filmmaker balancing on the line between fiction and documentary. Through unique locations, mesmerizing camera work, and immersive sound design, he captures the slow inner transformation of his protagonist along with the rich cultural and spiritual life of a community facing a modern form of colonialism.

Return to the Moon (or Nothing)

"For months we experimented and represented ourselves, starting with simple walks in search of material for a thesis. How can we visually recreate a memory? We walked and filmed, photographed and painted, got to know each other and told our stories. An experience transformed into a story that speaks of a shared journey, made up of filming, changes of season, conversations about the moon, and exchanges of techniques. Inspired by “Dark Side of the Moon,” we tried to represent the intimate and personal emotions that came to us through the album. Each song has a language, each movement a color, each sound an expression. What remains today, half a century later? Something inexplicable, perhaps. A wonderful creation of friendship and mutual artistic esteem, the (re)creation of multiple memories, which overlap like membranes on the screen. - Erik Negro
