The femina accabadora was a woman who practiced an ancient form of euthanasia, a compassionate act towards the dying person, in order to alleviate her pains. Considered by many to be a legendary figure of the Sardinian tradition, in reality he acted until the 1960s, as our protagonists, eyewitnesses of the deeds of the ladies of the good death, tell. Together with them we cross the sunny landscapes of Sardinia and immerse ourselves in the shaded areas of a millenary culture still alive in the present.

On a cargo boat. Two Dutch brothers in their sixties. Faces and bodies marked by a whole life spent traveling on the Rhein, the Maas, the Danube... They are born on the water and the boat is their only house. The Watna measures 86 meters in length, 11 in width and 12 meters in depth. Most of the time Harrie and Leon are alone in their daily routine, while outside the landscape flows restlessly away at a constant speed of twelve kilometers per hour. Huge industries and romantic castles. Cargo boats and luxury cruises. Observed from the cabin, the river banks appear unapproachable and fleeting, bound to a parallel temporal state where every matter seems to float suspended. Meals are often solitary and there is only little time to rest: Watna cannot stop its rush against time, since the profit on carriage of raw materials barely covers the costs of the shipping.

Ordered personally by Mussolini, with the expression "martellamento diluito nel tempo", the bombings were a studied way of sowing terror, massacring citizens little by little and ending their sources of livelihood. The film provides little-known data from that episode, such as official documents that show that democratic Italy continued to receive money from Spain for its participation in the war. In 2013, the Barcelona Court accepted a complaint against the Italian pilots who participated in the bombings. The victims, for their part, are still waiting for Italy to apologize for these events.

La natura è morta
A portrait/self-portrait of Gillo Dorfles as seen through his favourite objects: in an intimate, gentle narrative, hanging inside a home, his home – a space both real and symbolic, mental and physical. GilloDorfles talks about the things he holds most dear, a mix of historical and artistic culture and everyday objects, family mementoes and original sculptures, memories and insights. It is an attempt to give shape, image and sound to the monumental intangibility of Gillo Dorfles’ thoughts, memories and desires.
