Kommissar Süden und der Luftgitarrist

Inspector Süden's friend and colleague Martin Heuer is in the final of the German qualifying round for the air guitar world championship. Suddenly his toughest competitor is nowhere to be found: Edward Loos, an architect and loner in real life, who is better than anyone else as an air guitarist, has disappeared and nobody seems to be bothered by it. Although this is not actually a case for Missing Persons Division 11 - Loos has disappeared but has not been reported missing - Inspector Süden and his team trust Heuer's intuition and set out to search for an air guitarist who has vanished into thin air. Mea Culpa – A ReadyMadeOpera

In Mea Culpa, Christoph Schlingensief blurs a delicate line: he ignores the threshold that separates the healthy from the sick. By making his cancer the subject of an opera, premiering on the largest German-speaking theater, he is putting the art district under pressure: a wonderful institution like the Burgtheater must use its artistic resources lavishly to reveal the entire "truth" about us humans. At the end of the day, when the scenery on Janina Audick's revolving stage has finally come to rest, when Isolde's last Liebestad has been sung enchantingly beautifully by Elfriede Rezabek and indescribable jubilation breaks out, then Schlingensief is completely alone with his illness.

The Longing

It is set in a dreary village in the Schwabian-Frankish Forest where the seemingly reserved Lena lives with her tyrant of a husband, Johannes, in a loveless marriage. Johannes is the village's spiritual leader and Lena is his faithful, ever-ready-to-serve wife. Lena's daily life is characterized by grinding monotony, a life narrowly circumscribed by nursing, organ playing and the duties of the marriage bed. The mysterious murder of a village girl suddenly knocks this humdrum existence off its tracks. In the wake of these events Lena discovers the affection and tenderness for which she has always longed in Paul, the village mechanic. This encounter is the start of an emancipation that leads her not to reveal Paul's secret regarding the girl's murder, for fear of losing her newly won piece of happiness. In turn it means she has to remain silent, as she has always done in her many years of marriage. So it is that this love ultimately turns Lena herself into a fallen angel.

Do It Yourself: The Story of Rough Trade

The Rough Trade story begins more than thirty years ago on 20th February 1976. Britain was in the grip of an IRA bombing campaign; a future prime minister was beginning to make her mark on a middle England in which punk was yet to run amok; and a young Cambridge graduate called Geoff Travis opened a new shop at 202 Kensington Park Road, just off Ladbroke Grove in west London. The Rough Trade shop sold obscure and challenging records by bands like American art-rockers Pere Ubu, offering an alternative to the middle-of-the-road rock music that dominated the music business.

Temelin

In January 2002 the Temelín nuclear power plant, which is located in the Czech Republic less than 50 kilometers from the Austrian border, went into trial operation. This film attempts to calmly and objectively present a different Temelín: the village of the same name which lies in the romantic hills of southern Bohemia with its 300 residents. Not all of them view the power plant with enthusiasm, but here the pros and cons are not based on the arguments of the media - people have developed their own strategies for life with “their“ power plant.

Hits such as "Promised Land," "Mexico," "Mama Loo," and "Kansas City" followed, thrilling an entire generation. By 1976, they had sold 48 million records.
