Mountains of books and many films have been written about the Yalta Conference – the meeting of Stalin, Roosevelt and Churchill, which took place in February 1945 and determined the fate of the post-war world. It would seem that everything has been known about these events for a long time. But only relatively recently, thanks to the research of the famous Russian historian William Pokhlebkin, we became aware of the details of a grandiose "culinary" action – a series of banquets that accompanied the negotiations of the allies in the devastated Crimea that difficult, still military winter. For obvious reasons, these feasts could not get into the field of view of the newsreelers of that time. But ... miraculously preserved materials give us the opportunity to feel their scale and specific atmosphere. No one says to see. And no one claims that the materials are documentary.

Such Different Love

Three completely different styles of short films united by one main theme of Love. Each of the directors wanted to show what they think about love and what it can be. Marina Kalinina's film "Ayyy Badym" is the story of a visitor from Moscow who comes to visit his friend in Yakutia. During the hunt, he finds himself drawn into a mystical story that will affect the fate of a young couple. Experimental film "Neighbor" by Nyurgun Fedorov is about the fact that love does not divide people by age, ethnicity or even gender. The feelings of two girls are certainly sincere and are able to resist the attacks of those in whose eyes it seems wrong. The short film "Love with Time" by Ekaterina Abdulayeva tells the story of two people whose love has been able to stand the test of time. The story of how they found each other and were able to keep the feeling no matter what!

Grandfather, Vasily and Kvadrat

Author's family history. We can say that this is a movie about my grandfather. It can be said that he is about a horse and about the relationship between a man and a horse. And you can do it like this: how the horse influenced the history of the country and the world. And everything will be true, because my grandfather Zavilgelsky Boris Dmitrievich was the director of the First Moscow Stud Farm, where the legendary stallion Kvadrat was born and the equally legendary groom Uncle Vasya worked.

Maya Turovskaya. Shards

The legendary cultural critic, author of books about M. Babanova, B. Brecht, A. Tarkovsky, Maya Turovskaya tells us a novel. Childhood, in people, my universities… She tells it like a writer. Only her novel is not written, but shot on camera and supplemented with photos and newsreel footage. In other words, it's a movie monologue about time. About a communal apartment in Maly Kozikhinsky Lane in Moscow. About my parents and my father's arrest. About kindergarten and school. About friends and girlfriends. About teachers. About the beginning of the war and the evacuation to Sverdlovsk. About her husband, critic Boris Medvedev, who met the war on the border, and ended it in Stalingrad. About parallel studies at Moscow State University and at GITIS. About the fight against rootless cosmopolitans.

ТНМ

The storyline touches on the eternal theme: “Fathers and Sons”. The ability to bear responsibility for their actions and the ability to answer for them. The language of the film’s narration is non-linear; it is conducted on behalf of our protagonist, Timothy. The hero is trying to build a chronology of events, but he manages to do this only at the end of the film. Throughout history, the hero and I collect the “puzzle of events” of the last years of his life. Timothy was completely lost in the noisy big city, in his temptations, but gradually he finds a solution to his problems and grows up.

After a few quiet years, he suddenly finds a military trauma in himself. Driven by inner longing, he returns to some places where he photographed people during the war: in Nagorno-Karabakh, Abkhazia and Chechnya in order to find those who are depicted in the pictures.

Senin's Day

Senya is a brown bear cub with an amazing and terrible fate. Classical literature has long revealed to us that such destinies do not happen only to people. But, of course, Tatiana Skabard's new film is still about us: about our cruelty and indifference, about bloody entertainment involving animals, which are arranged not by medieval barons, but by our neighbors, and about how our other contemporaries, at the risk of life and health, regardless of costs, save and treat birds and animals mutilated in these amusements.

When The Morning Came

Her name is Ida Frank and she is over 90 years old. Born during the Civil War, she fought during the Second World War where she survived three concentration camps. After the war, she worked as a pediatrician for 50 years. On the screen, Ida Frank's monologue is an autobiographical tale that speaks of her life, of choice even when there seems to be none. It is a rare blend of sincerity and agreed language, deeply personal, objective and uncompromising. The story of this woman combines the optimism of youth, the spirit, self-deprecation and a fighting character, all forming a powerful agreement.
