At times dreamy and sunny: black brown is the hazelnut and so is our rough-haired dachshund. Or bloodcurdling: the somnambulistic speeches of the former Minister of the Interior of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the hair-raising excuses of his police director, the shrill remarks of the residents. Little by little, they draw ever tighter circles around the common (security) topic: shit. Where was Hitler born, where did he become German and who did he marry? Which laxative is actually rifle-cleaning oil? What really happened on August 24, 1992 in Rostock-Lichtenhagen? The Color Brown premiered under the title Pfui–Fornication and Order in Germany (Pfui–Fornication and Order in Germany) at the 25th International Forum of Young Cinema in 1995.

Does it carry you away, the remoteness of the universe? The light streak on the horizon, do you arch over it? Well, bon appétit! The 16mm film BAUCHLANDUNG (Bellylanding) explores the relationship between longing and hunger, symbol and everyday life, dream and the stomach.

"Ei, wie jeht ...' still rings in my ears when my father starts to talk about the past. His humorous stories in the circle of friends and the trip with a group of older East Prussians in 1988 to Treuburg, Lyck and Gdansk form the basis of this film" says Denzer about the film about his father, the graduate engineer Kurt Denzer, who was born in 1906 as the seventh child of the landowner Wilhelm Denzer on the parental estate Kukowken. He attended the one-class village school in Kukowken and the grammar schools in Lyck and Königsberg. He graduated from the Technical University of Gdansk with a degree in engineering. From 1937 he was employed as a construction foreman at Strabag Bau-AG Berlin for the construction of freeways and airfields. From 1957 he was a lecturer at the engineering school in Lage/Lippe and later co-founder of the Lippe University of Applied Sciences. He and his wife Lilly died in Detmold in November 2001.

The fourth in a four-part video art series produced by duo Christiane Dellbrügge and Ralf de Moll in the early-'90s, this piece continues the series' themes of incorporating art theory into video art, particularly through the juxtaposition of words and images. Here, text exploring the intersections and conflicts between electronic media and the creation/reception of new media art is dissected into individual words that are then pair with split-second images and sound clips, typed across the montage until it fills the screen.

Captain Buchholz has been studying soil hardness, earth's gravitational pull, and the consistency of tree trunks and root systems for years. Since 1962, he has been weighing the earth and collecting samples. And he has noticed that the weight changes from year to year. The earth is becoming lighter and the soil looser. Stones that Buchholz throws to the ground take longer to land than they used to. Flying insects are no longer able to be held on the ground by the gravitational pull of the earth. He sets off and secures trees.

Ernst Cantzler’s documentary about the soccer fan club “Union”, the scenes in the stadium, in their club bar “Green Hell” and in the streets of Berlin was a sensation. The scenes shown by the director and his cameraman had never been seen before: young soccer fans full of violence in the “first German peaceful state”. They are Hooligans who live from one weekend to the other just to get it all out. They want to scream, kick, hit and drink.

Experimental short film

The trauma of a car accident 16 years earlier is revisited on a road journey. This absorbing piece combines various media to evoke deeply personal feelings.

Albania, 1994. Those who have left assert that those who remain are the ones who are afraid. Those who remain say, what do we have to fear? We have no time for tears.

In the beginning is the sea. Night over the harbour. Then a plane takes off. Dana, the friend, leaves the airport building. Dana, the milliner, leaves the millinery. Dana, the traveller, sits in the train.

The film depicts a group of 12 street sweepers cleaning a street covered with pieces of broken glass. The manner in which the work is carried out captures the musicality of the scene.

The leitmotif of this work is the peculiarity, which can be found in many people, of gradually assuming the characteristics of islands. This central theme with its documentary approach is improvised upon in three sequences ("The Turtle Island", "Single Malt" and "Dino's Island")

The film is based on everyday household activities performed by the artist's mother. Individual movement segments are isolated from the natural sequence of filmed movements and juxtaposed with segments from another/similar cleaning activity. The soundtrack includes conversations with the mother as well as household noises.

Inspired by an event from Hamburg's history, this animated film tells the wondrous adventures of two cabbage roots that are picked up by the mysterious Lohengrin swan and taken to the treasure chambers of the old German emperors.

As a horror scenario, a male nightmare, or a female fantasy, this short film tells the story of the end of a romantic relationship. A young man is abandoned by his lover and sees only one way to win her back. By the fire in the forest at night, he gets involved with dark figures at the gallows. Inexperienced in dealing with evil, he does not understand the rules of their game. The sensually beautiful lover chooses the winner.

Michael wants to get out of a satanic sect and a world breaks down for his girlfriend Doris. When she tries to kill him in her madness, he kills her in self-defense with an iron. Together with his buddy, the somewhat crazy Frank, they dispose of the body in a forest lake. But there is a curse on the lake and Doris comes back as a murdering zombie. Meanwhile, the Grand Master and her loyal assistant Schröder are after Michael and want to sacrifice him. More and more dead people want to be disposed of and this creates more and more zombies and the sect members also put the two on the skin enormously.
