Marcos, blind and deaf, learned to speak in the institute for the blind run with an iron fist by Guadalupe. Saul, commissioned by the director to interview the one who is presented as a young miracle, befriends him. Saul's mission is to interview Marcos, a young blind and deaf man who learned to speak at an institute for the blind in Guadalajara, run by Guadalupe. A miracle that hides certain mysteries, and a strong friendship that is created between the two young people.

Born in Constantine, in 1929, having lived in France and in Europe for a long time, poet, novelist and playwright, Kateb Yacine is one of the bestknown North African writers: a forerunner. In this film, Kateb Yacine talks about his work, about his ideas. His whole life springs up from memories. Images which are dealt like cards provide the key to an outstanding process of thought. None but himself is able to represent Algeria in search for its memory, for its history, thus enabling the rebirth, in « the garden among the flames… », of Nedjma, symbol of the woman, of the homeland… the essential key to the life and work of the writer, the film’s real clue.

We are in the North of France. The town of Binche, in Belgium, is not far away. It is considered the capital of the gilles, the jesters of the North of France. That tradition dates back to the last century. It was so popular that it eventually became widespread. Once during a carnival, some gilles appeared on this side of the border, in Pont-sur-Sambre. The story of the gilles of Pont started very humbly at Alain and Josiane’s, who run a garage. Their passion for the gilles led them to create a non-profit organization that welcomes unemployed or employed workers, mothers and people on welfare. They gather together all through the year to play gille and communicate to those who watch them marching, their joy of dancing and singing to the rhythm of drums and brass.

This film is designed to be unwound on a reel and read through the film (light table). Can also be projected.

This is a free adaptation of the myth of Perseus, of which only the central aspect was retained: the takeoff of Medusa, queen of the Gorgons who petrified all those who met his gaze.

A young lady is stuck in a process that she cannot control. She is moving forward to a point that keeps moving backwards. As a result, her destination remains out of sight. With the repetitions and the re-examination of the same pictures, the film looks like a never-ending downward spiral which leads us to the depths of despair.

The Jawi are an ethnic minority group living in the southeastern provinces of Thailand. Descending from the famous Patani sultanate which was annexed by Siam in the twentieth century, this rural people of Islamic faith carry on the traditional Malaysian culture. What makes them particular is the importance they give to a local variety of zebra dove (Geopelia striata), called the Burông Tité. The Jawi prize the quality and beauty of its singing so much that their admiration for it reaches almost a cult status. They raise and train the doves for song contests. The winning birds bring their owners not only social prestige, but sometimes quite a substantial fortune, as their value can mount up to tens of thousands of euros. The film unveils the secrets of raising and preparing the doves for the singing contests. And through this, we discover the life and culture of this Malay minority.

In the 1970s, Colonel Moren Brito ran Villa Grimaldi, one of the main torture centers of the DINA, the political police. Today, he leads a discreet life in a residential area of Santiago. But his past is catching up with him. At the local supermarket, he is stopped by one of his former victims. In Chile, as elsewhere, the scars will only heal once justice has been served.

The first in a four-part video art series produced by duo Christiane Dellbrügge and Ralf de Moll in the early-'90s, this piece begins the series' themes of incorporating art theory into video art, particularly through the juxtaposition of words and images. Here, abstracted hands are superimposed over a constantly spinning black-and-white, digitally produced background, signing the "text" of the piece while a distorted voice accompanies it.

A group of teens leave their comfortable homes on a trip south to the Pyrennes Mountains in order to find a treasure that they have read about. Simultaneously, a fourteen-year-old boy has grown so fixated on Clo (Andréa Ferreol), a mature woman, that he has run away to be with her. After treating him appropriately for his age, she follows her own curiosity and they briefly engage in a sexual relationship, after which she resumes her role as an adult and sees to it that he returns to his family, which has been suspicious of their relationship all along.

Virgil Thomson composed many musical portraits of people as they faced him. Like a visual artist using different visual elements, Virgil established personal sketches using the palette of musical expression. EVERBEST VIRGIL perpetuates this tradition by linking the portrait of a composer to his own composition. I filmed Virgil, in his apartment at the Chelsea Hotel, in Manhattan, shortly before his death. These are the last images taken from the life of one of America's most treasured composers.

The film is oriented towards an analyses of the mechanisms of the conditionnement and of the education. The mechanisms of power manifest themselves in the architecture and in the hierarchic organisation of the institutions. This conditions the individuals and leads them to selfdiciplination.

For the world, the Auschwitz camp is a symbol of the Holocaust, genocide, and terror. Never before in human history were so many people murdered in a planned way. In such a short time and in such a small space. Between 1940 and 1945, the Nazi Germans deported over a million Jews, nearly 150,000 Poles, 23,000 Roma, and 15,000 Soviet prisoners of war, and about 25,000 prisoners of other nationalities here. The overwhelming majority of them perished in the camp. This film is dedicated to the memory of each and every one of them.

This film is composed of two films: the first is a refilming of an excerpt of news from a French television channel at the end of 1989, with reports on the events in Romania and Berlin, partially obstructed by the residue of a Super 8 film that someone had given me. The second is made up of unused sequences from the film CHARLOTTE, the baby a symbol of the two "protest movements" demanding more democracy.

Parisian artist Dominique Willoughby has retrieved some 19th century wonder discs from the archives and re-animated them in a variety of ways to minimalist music.
