Todesfrist – Nemez und Sneijder ermitteln

Based on Andreas Gruber's bestseller: A female corpse is found in Munich's Frauenkirche, suffocated by a large amount of ink—a reference to the "bad guys" in "Struwwelpeter." Munich detective Sabine Nemez takes over the investigation. However, parallels to cases in Leipzig and Cologne bring the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) into play, where the stubborn but brilliant case analyst and forensic psychologist Maarten S. Sneijder is investigating the series of murders. Reluctantly, but convinced by Sabine's instinct and talent, Sneijder allows the young detective, for whom solving the case is a personal concern, to continue her involvement in the investigation. The bloody trail leads the quick-witted duo to Vienna, where psychologist Helene Berger has received a package containing a severed thumb—the story of the "thumb-sucker." This makes her part of a bizarre psychological game, for every murder is preceded by a riddle from the murderer...

Sufficiente

In a middle school on the northern outskirts of Naples, a teenager roughly fifteen years old appears before the examiners to earn his diploma. The professors are as skeptical as can be expected about a student who has repeated the year more than once, but the boy isn't intimidated and delivers his oral report about history, his own personal history, marred by a tragedy, and then moves on to discuss the human body and the sculpture The Veiled Christ. The teachers hear him out in silence; a passing grade is all he asks for. The film was conceived and produced as part of a film production course at Vodisca Teatro / La Scugnizzeria held by Gianluca Arcopinto and Vincenzo Marra.

A champion of active environmentalism and the right to openly criticize any institutional abuse, he has put his artistic work at the service of his political commitments, whether as an actor, director, producer, or founder of the Sundance Festival, a formidable forum for his struggles since 1985.

Accompanied by an artist and a young guide, he pursues his research in remotes territories covered by a large forest. As the old narrator continues his tale, he engages himself in a long journey between river and vegetation, a quest that connects him to his own story.

The Divided Soul of America

Under the Trump administration, USA is a deeply divided country. One side feeds populism and religious rectitude in a monochromatic landscape, painted white, lamenting for a past that never will return. The other side fuels diversity and multiculturalism, a biased vision of a progressive future, quite unlikely. Both sides are constantly confronted, without listening to each other. Only a few reasonable people gather to change this potentially dangerous situation.

Broken Gods

India has one of the largest populations of Indigenous people in the world, known locally as adivasis or tribals. As India's current Hindu nationalist government pushes to redefine India as a homogenous Hindu nation, adivasis’ ways of life are under greater threat. Set among the Rathava and Bhil adivasi communities of western India, broken gods document the social impact of Hindu religious evangelism among India’s Indigenous groups. As Indigenous people join Hindu religious sects, their old gods are literally becoming broken - devotional mural paintings are being whitewashed from homes, and the earthen figurines in honour of village gods and ancestors are being left to fall apart. While for those who convert joining a Hindu sect offers the allure of a better life, those who continue to follow their old ways have become ostracized by their communities. Their broken gods have lost the power to protect them from illness and scarcity.
