The conflict erupts when Hirakawa (Hitomi Matsuda) of Kyokuzankai attacks the Marugami-affiliated Sasaoka group. Tsurumi (Mikio Osawa), with approval from Mita (Shun Sugata), launches retaliation, triggering full-scale war. Amid the chaos, Kyowakai accelerates its bid for national unification. Tamura (Yoshiyuki Yamaguchi) heads to Hokkaido, while Himuro moves to consolidate Okinawa—where a different yakuza history awaits.

Himuro (Yasukaze Motomiya), assistant Wakagashira of Kyowakai, joins Tamura (Yoshiyuki Yamaguchi) and other Kyowakai executives to track down Fukumoto, chairman of the West Japan Mutsumikai, the mastermind behind the assassination plot against Kudo (Hakuryu), Kyowakai’s chairman. Himuro and his men infiltrate the meeting site, preparing to eliminate Fukumoto—but Yashiro, head of the Yashiro-gumi, pretends to cooperate while secretly leaking information to the Kudo-gumi. Seizing the opportunity, Zaizen, assistant Wakagashira of the Kudo-gumi, makes his move—not against Fukumoto, but against Himuro himself. Meanwhile, Kawatani, Kyowakai’s Wakagashira, is delivered a shocking revelation by Kudo.

One day, Etsuko hears Dr. Makabe state "I came to Earth to invade."

Even though Ryosuke knows that she is married, he takes her to his video shooting and they get close. Ryosuke leaves Hokkaido in 2 days and he asks Haruka to spend one more day with him.

Soeda and Asako decide to get married, but, after they get married, Soeda dates another woman and abuses Asako. He even pushes Asako to have an affair with Hozumi. Hozumi still has feelings for Asako, but his love changes to hatred.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the "Sangokushi" series, a concert was held at MUZA Kawasaki Symphony Hall on Saturday, April 16, 2016. The Kanagawa Philharmonic Orchestra, under the baton of conductor Kosuke Yamashita, presented the first full orchestra concert of the "Sangokushi" series, allowing the audience to enjoy the masterpieces of the series.

At the beginning of the 19th century, Japan was under a policy of national isolation. A group of Dutch scholars who wanted to open the country secretly completed a copy of a map of Japan under shogunate control. They sent a young Dutch scholar, Michi-an, as a secret envoy to deliver the copy of the map to the Dutch. Michi-an, hiding himself and making his way through the deserted winter mountains, but the mountain guardians, led by Takayama, had begun hunting in the mountains with a description of Michi-an's appearance arranged by the shogunate.
