Frágil

An empty stage: the last conversation between a man and a woman before splitting up; two brothers' reunion to close a matter from the past; a dangerous man rambling on about the fragility of human beings; the violent breakup of a marriage of convenience; the ephemeral love between a desperate woman and a lonely violinist; the paranoia of an old actress that clings to a memory from her youth. The city exists as a hologram for the sailors, standing like a shadow behind the vessel that gives shelter. Men of diverse nationalities and religions, yet all share the same broken gaze, in which a dream of home absorbed through a screen is a haunting and entertaining presence during the long dead hours of waiting.

Piratas y libélulas

In Piratas y Libélulas, Isabel de Ocampo follows the staging of a play by a group of pupils in a high school in Las Tres Mil Viviendas, a conflictive area in Seville. “Raúl y Julia” is the version, adapted to the present day, of Shakespeare´s “Romeo and Juliet” presented by Los Shespirs (in a joking reference to the English author), a group formed by gypsy and non-gypsy pupils in which there are difficulties and conflicts, but also joy and the desire for self-improvement.
