Sumikkogurashi debuted in 2012 as slightly negative characters who like to stay in the corner of a room. The characters include "Shirokuma", a polar bear who is sensitive to cold, "Penguin?" (with a question mark in its name), a penguin who is unsure if it is actually a penguin, "Tonkatsu", a piece of pork cutlet that was left uneaten, "Neko", a shy cat, and "Tokage", who hides his nature as one of the last dinosaurs. The franchise has inspired toys, books, stationery material, video games—and now a feature film.

The strangled dead body of Hiroshi Hatano, accounting section chief at the longstanding apparel company Edaka International, is discovered in his apartment in Tokyo. At the scene, Inspector Totsugawa and Detective Kamei find out that a mysterious email stating "I'll be riding the Super Ozora 5 tomorrow" was sent to the victim's cell phone the night before. Biohazard ~ Voice of Gaia ~ is set in an unspecified year where the threat of bioterrorism has continued to increase in extremity. Much of the story is set in and around the walled Croatian city of Dubrovnik, on the Adriatic seacoast, which faces attack from "Them", zombies infected by an ancient virus. The survivors in Dubrovnik are protected by both their wall and by music, as melodies are known to calm Them, suppressing their violent urges.

The DVD is of her largest show to date held at Nippon Budokan in Tokyo on November 6, 2012. The show's concept was of a pop-up picture book, and features many of Kyary's cute and colorful costumes with even a performance where she flies above the audience. All 20 songs performed are included. It was released in DVD and Blu-ray editions. A limited edition (DVD only) comes with a bonus disc of a backstage documentary, bonus live footage from other shows, as well as videos of Kyary explaining how to dance "tsukematsukeru" and "Fashion Monster". The limited edition comes as a photo book package.[2]
