Meanwhile, Seong Gil is tipped off by a mysterious woman and heads to Kokura, where she currently lives, right away. Her name is Yoon Seul.

Rossiya, an 18-year-old girl from Uzbekistan with big dreams, hoped to receive a scholarship to attend the Bolshoi Ballet School, but her dream was shattered by the collapse of the Soviet Union. She took a job as a dancer at a nightclub in Seoul to earn money for tuition, lured by the promise of a Korean employment agency that "you can earn money and become successful just by dancing in Korea." However, the agency that placed her did not pay the wages promised for seven months, and her debt continued to grow due to her stay. She ended up living in a cramped villa in Ansan with other migrant worker women, gradually transforming into a sex slave engaged in alcohol service and prostitution...

This year is the 30th anniversary of the Gwangju Democratization Movement. Though the country commemorates the event as the official historical records, it does not include any 'real' accounts of the people who experienced it firsthand. The students who were part of the movement; the female vendors who made rice balls for the students; the female high school students cooked at the government building; now, past their middle age, they live as ordinary citizens in Gwangju city. How is the event remembered by these people?

This embodies the concept “gaze of gaze.” The film was shot in three different places to capture the atmosphere of DMZ. The installation consists of two-channel projections, CCTV cameras, and objects representing the DMZ.

Film Walk is perhaps the one plus ultra of this branch of projection performance, treating the projector literally as an instrument. In this work, which has varied in form across several years,Lee threads 16mm film through only the sound head of a projector tuned on its side, bypassing the projector’s gate. This film is double-perf, meaning a second row of sprocket holes runs along the side of the strip where that soundtrack would normally be. As these pass over the sound head, they produce an electronic purr, or, when amplified enough, an unpleasant metallic grinding comparable to the sound of a buzz saw. Lee pulls the film through the projector by hand, yanking it roughly through the sound head. The variations in speed that result from Lee’s manual movement of the filmstrip cause abrupt changes in the frequency and timbre of the sprocket sound. (Jonathan Walley, Cinema Expanded)

What would be the meaning of Lee So-sun's life to these two artists who beautified all her pains in life? This work is about the final message left by the 'mother'.

Kim Gwang-bae is an over-anxious father. He tags along on his son's school MT trips because he worries about his son. In his eyes, his son is still a mere teenager.
