A man is in a strange place to find his own dream. The place is all white and with no hills and each dreamer got his own little space to carry it out.

Here, an isolated and surrounded being tries, by arrhythmic movements, to contain a convulsive fear of light. Three stages, three moments, but one and the same creature oscillating between the human and the insect which remains secretly within its own “camera obscura”.

The Kotedba dance company from the impoverished Treichville section of Abidjan wins an invitation to Paris to perform at the Beaubourg Center in an international competition. The group tries desperately to raise money for the trip, but the lead dancer is held hostage by her wealthy family who objects to her participation in the troupe. The film shows the lively street life of Abidjan and the hopeful anticipation of the dance group to make their dream of a lifetime come true.

The folkloric group "Nzale," founded in 1979 in Bangui, practices a traditional dance called "M'baka M'Bokou," which means "strength" and is a symbol of victory. It is a battle dance: each dancer wears the skin of the animal he wishes to incarnate. One dancer stands in the middle of a circle and fights the other dancers who come to confront him one after another.

Corbonne is a small village in the Drôme, near Valence. Before the Second World War there were 140 inhabitants, today there are 30. To stop the decline of the older part of Corbonne, a non-profit society has organised 7 work camps in four years. The highlight of these summer work camps is the 15th of August festival, which enables the friends of old Corbonne and the villagers to get together.

From 1977 to 1980, Bernard Cadoux and Jean-Paul Lebesson regularly visited Stanislas Rodanski at the Saint Jean de Dieu hospital, where he had been staying since 1954. These conversations gave rise to a film: Horizon Perdu, whose title references Frank Capra's Lost Horizon (1937) and Shangri-La, the mythical city where the story takes place.

"Retrospectively, I could say that this work, realized collectively, was an essay of animation cinema, a clip with no other pretension than the pleasure of associating images to a song of the group Gang of Four.
