She, with a Cold

A sophisticated and hypnotic fiction with inlays of reality, a kind of literary Friends—the television series—or a costume party at Entropía, where the characters move through the Buenos Aires literary scene while playing at being others, trying on new connections. It is an experiment on discourse, roles, and settings, in which each sequence turns out to be more charming than the last. At times Resfriada seems like an expansion of the publishing house’s discourse, and at others an unexpected recess.

Parking

'Parking' isn't just a film; it's an experiment that proves cinema is still magical. Filmmaker Roger Gual brought together sixteen people with no filmmaking experience with the challenge of creating a film in one month. No script, no locations, no open casting, and no money. With these elements, David Lillo wrote in one week the story of Pedro, a company manager who decides to leave his top-floor office to work as a parking attendant in the basement. The second week was dedicated to pre-production, location scouting, and rehearsals. The filming ultimately took place in seven days and one night. The result is 'Parking': magic and cinema.

Kulechov’s things

“Kulechov’s things” is an experimental short film inspired by L.V. Kulechov, in which we try to put the elasticity of MONTAGE to the test in order to reflect on the fragility and veracity of what we see and hear.Film editing serves as a metaphor for the most unjustified and cruel type of montage: WAR. Travelling through the landscape, customs and current situation in Galicia, we present a fictitious armed conflict in which an invading army attacks the Galician coastline. Thus we have created a “mock documentary” in which thewartime fleet is played by the mussel beds cultivated on rafts in the inlets, the attack on the beaches is represented by the shellfish collectors as they work along the shore, the bombs are the firecrackers and rockets launched duringfestivals, etc..

Asylum

This documentary focuses on a little-known episode in the recent history of Uruguay: how hundreds of Uruguayan citizens took refuge in the Mexican embassy at the time of the military dictatorship. Between 1975 and 1976, Mexico was the only country whose embassy gave shelter to people persecuted by the regime, and this sparked off a difficult period in the relations between the two nations. We learn about conditions at the embassy at that time and how the fugitives lived. Sixteen of the men and women involved talk about what that period was like and the events that led up to this confrontation between the two countries. The documentary is also a homage to the Mexican ambassador, don Vicente Muñoz Arroyo.

Los refugiados de Barrancos

September 1936. The last republican towns located next to Portugal are conquered by General Franco's troops. As in Badajoz and other towns, the repression they unleash is brutal. The support of the Portuguese dictator Salazar for the coup plotters does not make it advisable to flee to Portugal, but for many it is the only way out. In this way, hundreds of people decide to cross the border, closely pursued by the rebels. The usual procedure of the Portuguese authorities is to hand them over to their Francoist allies. However, thanks to the humanitarian intervention of the Portuguese lieutenant António Augusto de Seixas, two refugee camps were created next to the town of Barrancos to house and protect this group of Spaniards.
