La corsa de L'Ora

The story of this documentary unfolds between 1954 and 1975, years during which Vittorio Nisticò was the head editor of the newspaper L'ORA (The Hour). Nisticò's words, interpreted by Pippo Delbono, make up the body of the film: on one hand, the battles against the powers and interests intertwined between the mafia and the political world, during a historically transformative time for Sicily; on the other hand, the generation of intellectuals and artists, including characters such as Sciascia, Consolo, Dolci, Guttuso, Caruso, all taking on the struggle of becoming interpreters for this social and civil shift, and choosing this small, daily publication from Palermo as the main channel and instrument of this great challenge. In a few short years, the newspaper becomes a beacon in the fight against the "mafia mentality". Nisticò becomes a master of journalism, and L'Ora a great school, a "news factory”.

Cyborgs Among Us

In a few years, technology will merge with our bodies in ways that today seem unimaginable, and will redefine the limits of what is a human being. There are already people who, driven by the desire to experiment, have crossed the biological limits by introducing electronic devices that provide them with capabilities that go beyond what is "normal." They are the first hybrids, and they face the reaction of society, which goes from malignancy to enthusiasm. Today they are only a small minority, and many people consider them as disrupted experimenters, but in the near future we may recognize them as pioneers.

Heimat Helgoland

Heligoland, April 18, 1947: Preparations for one of the largest non-nuclear explosions in history are almost complete. The British want to raze the island to the ground with more than 6,000 tons of explosives - nothing should remind of the sea fortress with its air raid shelters and anti-aircraft systems, with the submarine bunker and naval port. The Heligolanders have been evacuated and are waiting with bated breath for the outcome of the “Big Bang” in Hamburg and Cuxhaven, on Sylt, in Schleswig and Wilhelmshaven. Will they ever be able to set foot on the red rock again - or will the island's history come to an end in an explosion that historians will later measure as the size of atomic bombs?

George III: The Genius of the Mad King

After 200 years under lock and key, all the personal papers of one of our most important monarchs are for the first time seeing the light of day. In the first documentary to gain extensive access to the Royal Archives, Robert Hardman sheds fascinating new light on George III, Britain's longest reigning king. George III may be chiefly remembered for his madness, but these private documents reveal a monarch who was a political micromanager and a restless patron of science and the arts, an obsessive traveller who never left southern England yet toured the world in his mind and a man who was driven (sometimes to distraction) by his sense of duty to his family and his country. Featuring Simon Callow and Sian Thomas as the voices of King George and Queen Charlotte.

Featuring interviews with patients, doctors, scientists, and influential politicians, Injecting Aluminum calls in to question the public health policies around aluminum in vaccines and examines aluminum's devastating effects on the human body.
