Wildes Elsass

Alsace is a very special region in the heart of Europe, where true natural treasures can still be found in great diversity. Between the Rhine and the Vosges mountains, the warmth and colorfulness of the Mediterranean meet an icy mountain range. Very different habitats lie in the middle of the cultivated landscape. The flying stork, symbolic animal of the region, takes us to these natural oases with their typical animal families: the dwarf mouse in the Ill meadows, the green lizard in the hot dry grasslands and vineyards near Rouffach, the chamois on the rocks and alpine pastures of the High Vosges on the Hohneck and finally our own stork family in the Schlettstadter Ried. The documentary observes the animal families in their struggle for survival from spring to late summer, providing an insight into the most exciting and beautiful moments. Right up to the big moment: when the young leave the family and start an independent life.

Los Pilares

Los Pilares is a family home, and also a portrait of the passing of time in one place and in one life, contained in the personal recordings of Antonio García Zarandieta between 1971 and 2018. Around the swimming pool, we get to know each tree, each grandchild that is born, each family celebration, which Antonio films painstakingly while adding a live narration. A film that pauses on the lyric of domestic life, at the same time as, through the past, it investigates a current theme: how what is around us is affected by constant recording, what does it mean to experience each event through the mediation of a device.

Paradogma

People who dare to question important themes today, are often silenced or labeled as suspicious and dangerous. Where once democracies valued and encouraged debate society is dividing itself with stark lines between the left, the right, the good or the bad. What is strangling debate? How liberal is the West? Should we ignore or embrace other perspectives? A critical, thought-provoking journey through ancient tribal conflicts, in a new era wherein world views clash and free speech crumbles under pressure to conform.

Messiah

Positioned between opera and theatre, this powerfully accessible interpretation of Handel’s seminal work explores the drama and struggle of faith, showing a bereaved community whose grief at the loss of their leader is transformed into hope through a narrative of resurrection. Inspired by early performances of the work, which were staged in theatres and concert halls rather than churches, including its first performance at Bristol Old Vic in 1782, it is a rare treat for connoisseurs and enthusiasts alike.

Der große Rudolph

The fact that Rudolph Moshammer is a dazzling figure and the most prominent fashion designer in Munich is no longer enough for his silent partners and financiers. With Evi's help, Mosahmmer wins the hearts and purses of the truly rich - if it weren't for his mother, who is scheming in the background. A fictional story that tells of beauty and money, but also of the friendship of two outsiders in Munich in 1983.

Bedbugs invade city centers, lice are doing most well, the Tiger mosquito is on the way to Germany, ticks abound. Why are they back? How can we eliminate rapidly these very unwanted guests? Shoulder to Shoulder

Fifty years since the start of The Troubles, the film captures the remarkable history of the Irish national rugby union team, which despite violence, opposition and partition in Ireland, has brought together players and fans from two countries and united them on and off the rugby pitch. BT Sport ambassador, and former Ireland and British & Irish Lions captain Brian O’Driscoll, takes viewers on a powerful journey as he explores how Irish rugby manages to navigate and nurture a successful team through the years of violence that have claimed the lives of more than 3,500 people. Ireland has been divided not just on a map but by politics, history and religion. However, the Irish Rugby Union has continued to be the governing body of rugby, leading to the remarkable situation of players from two countries competing as one.

Societas Mortis

Men dressed in black confraternal clothes come out of a church, carrying with difficulty a large cross of iron and wood and walk without accompanists, without a band and without a procession. It happens in Monterosso al Mare, a tourist resort of the Cinque Terre (Liguria, Italy), where every year the rite of the Societas Mortis is staged, a pilgrimage that reaches the monastery of Soviore from the streets of the village at 800 meters above sea level. A ritual that, between contradictions and reinterpretations, continues to survive.
