Bat Girl (Josephine Siao) returns from Singapore to Hong Kong as the singer Barbara to investigate her dad, a trapeze artist’s death. She is orphaned. She stays with her aunt. Her cousin is Sze Wai (Lui Kei), a pulp fiction writer of the superhero, Bat Girl. Encountering injustice, Bat Girl confronts Sze to interrogate about the whereabouts of Wu Wan-Lung (Sek Kin). Bat Girl unites with her friend, Chan Kwong-ying (Lydia Shum). Sze tracks down Bat Girl and is involved in a fight with Lung's marksmen in a nightclub. A private detective, James Bond (Cheng Kwun-Min) helps Lung find Bat Girl to no avail, as she appears in guises. Bat Girl eavesdrops on Lung and realises he was her father's murderer. She revenges on Lung, and a strange female creature (Yung Yuk-yi) appears as the Lung's house's owner. The creature finds that Bat Girl is her daughter. She wrestles with Lung and they are both burnt to death. At last, Sze finds out that his cousin is Bat Girl and they begin a romance.

The Diamond Gang commits a robbery. The leader Chiu Yee-kong wants to keep the booty and this arouses the suspicion of gang member Tai-wai. The police does not have a clue and thus invite Wong Ngung, Heung Ad and Wu Ngar for help. Kong is in accomplice with his third concubine. They order someone to steal the diamond and leave Wong's symbol. Wai turns his attention on Wong. Wong, Ad and Wu are not afraid of Wai and they throw him out. They sneak in Kong's apartment to investigate. Kong's second concubine is mad at Kong for neglecting her. She tells Wong the truth but gets killed. Kong's people surround Wong, Ad and Wu. Each of the three faces their enemy. Ad is tortured by Wai. Wong and Wu arrive in time and save her. One of Kong's people tells Wai the truth. Wai immediately attacks Kong. Wong, Ad, Wu and the police arrive at Kong's headquarter to arrest the gangsters. Wai is arrested but Kong has escaped. The diamonds are found. The inspector makes Wong, Ad and Wu as partners.

Lau Ching-yee sets out to investigate the raid on her uncle's consignment of silver when she stumbles upon two suspects, the stately Cheung Ting-yu and his attendant Mang Leung. Cheung makes the acquaintance of the knight-errant Poon Mo, who is recruiting allies to join the band of martial adepts against Tsak Sing-tau in the ring to win 20 chests of jewels for the poor. Failing to pressure Cheung to turn over the silver, Lau engages him in a fierce fight until the respected elder Moh Oh-ming intercepts and settles the dispute. Who is behind these strange events?

The film tells the story of Xing Yonghui, a rich girl who has fun with her painter boyfriend Du Shaohua and her classmates. Chen Xiaoping and Guo Dawei fall in love and want to elope, but they are prevented from doing so; Du Shaohua and Li Zhongting fall in love with each other over a painting, causing Xing Yonghui's unhappiness, and Xing Yonghui crashes a car into a rock and wants to die together, causing serious injuries to Du Shaohua and Li Zhongting; Xing Yonghui's suicide is prevented by her shame, but Li Zhongting does not care about the past suspicion, and the two of them recover from the injuries and perform with their classmates on the same day as they had planned to do so.

The Ten Brothers return as the Lake Devil is plagued by a monster fish. To settle the old score, Marshal asks Shrimpy and his ten sons to exterminate the fish. Excelled on land, the ten brothers find themselves quite useless in the water.

Buddhist Spiritual Palm Returned

THE KING WITH MY FACE (1967) offers a well-produced Shaw Bros. variation on Alexandre Dumas' famous tale, "The Man in the Iron Mask."

Love knows no limits in the grand period romance, Lady Jade Locket. A young fighter inadvertently falls for the spirit of a beautiful woman, who died years earlier avenging her own father's murder. The beautiful ghost is in fact the sister of his fiancee. Experienced as an actor in many such romances, director Yen Chuan keeps the tone perfect. Plus, with period specialist Li Li-hua in the lead and the attractive and acclaimed Li Ching playing the ghost girl, he really can do no wrong.

Cheng Chung-bo and his family become the target of attack and abduction orchestrated by a crime syndicate coveting the treasure map in his possession. His youngest son Fai is hauled to safety by the space station scientist and gains great power as the Moonlight Spaceman under his tutelage. Fai returns after six years with the mission to crack down on the ring. Flying Heroine Ma Chau-wan is sent as his backup by the understandably worried scientist. The spaceman approaches neighbour Ho Kei-ming's daughter Yuk-wah in order to probe into the father's dealings with the crime ring. Ma, meanwhile, charms her way into Detective Wong's investigation squad. Fai and the detective make a narrow escape from death but are dealt another setback, with Fai's mother and Yuk-wah abducted. Carefree Peter Chen and serious Paul Chang are airline pilots and close friends. Peter disturbs the love life of three girls, one each in Hong Kong, Manila and Singapore.

The Fragrant Sword is a Hong Kong Martial Arts movie starring Stanley Fung. Yu Lap-chung has been executed for the murders of martial alliance members when the black-clad assailant to blame is still roaming free. Apprehended by the murder threats to the helmsman of Emei and Xueshan, Golden-clad Ambassador of the alliance solicits help from the security escort master Wai To, Yu in disguise spared from execution by his master who had a rapist stand in his place. The fake scholar ingratiates himself with Ai Ching-yee, daughter of the Mulberry Pillar Fortress helmsman Ai Pak-chuen and exposes the father's conspiracy with his sworn brother to rule the martial world by dispatching Ching-yee's senior disciple Sze-hung Ying to commit atrocities against the martial alliance. Yu cajoles Ching-yee into assisting in Sze-hung's capture and with the culprit handed over to the alliance, the young lovers wander away.

One stormy night, a poor music student (Patrick Tse) meets a famous dancer (Josephine Siao). In one night, he composes for her the musical of her dreams: A Purple Stormy Night. The management of her dance company is divided on the musical, but the dancer manages to dispel all their doubts and the musical becomes a great success. The student and the dancer fall in love, but there is a shadow side to happiness: corrupted by success, the next musical they make is superficial. "Purple Night" shows the dangerous influence commerce can have on artistic integrity and is also about themes such as love and friendship, the relationship between art and life and the conflict between rich and poor.

Chen Liujin and Zhang Lihong have a chance encounter with Wang Shu and Li Rong during an outing to the beach. Chen admires Wang, but Wang has fallen for Zhang's charm; Zhang fancies Li, whose heart is set on Chen ironically. The two young men seek to approach their objects of affection on the pretext of inviting the dream date of each other to an outing in the country during which they are teased and made fun of by the two women. To wipe away the shame, Wang and Li plot to intoxicate the women, who pretend to be in a drunken stupor while calling for help from their uncle and father respectively. In front of the elders, Chen declares her love for Wang, and Zhang for Li. Hit with the realisation of the women's sentiments, the two men reciprocate their respective admirers with their well-deserved love.

In this 1960s family comedy though, marriage is attached with a string of feudal obligations. Shun (Cheung Ying-choi) and Sum (Nam Hung) are happily married with a son. Shun's childless uncle from the US proposes to take away their son as his own and, when the couple refuse, demands that Shun marry a second wife to bear him an offspring. The couple in distress team up with their naughty friends in playing a game of bluff, which sets off a series of whimsical and side-splitting sequences. Director Chor Yuen tied the knot with actress Nam Hung three years after the film's release, leading to one of the most celebrated marriages in Hong Kong cinema.

Family Doctrine is a drama film directed by Chu Kei and stars Wu Fung, Man Lan, Pearl Au Ka-Wai, Ma Siu-Ying, and Kitty Ting Hao.

The husband-and-wife team of Ivy Ling Po and Chin Han returned to another Huangmei Opera classic after Lady General Hua Mu-Lan. Helmed by Chow Sze-loke and written by Chang Cheh, the story revolved around two intellectual siblings, Ching Feng-sheng (Chin Feng) and Ching Feng-hsiao (Ivy Ling Po), who were constantly abused by their stepmother Hsia (Kao Pao-shu). Feng-hsiao was engaged to Li Ru-lung (Chin Han) since birth, but the greedy Hsia forced him to forfeit the marriage. When Ru-lung refused, Hsia framed him for thievery and put him behind bars. To rescue her lover, Feng-hsiao dressed as a young man and went to the capital. She then used Ru-lung's name to enter the national exam and was ranked first place. Impressed by Feng-hsiao, the Emperor decided to let her wed the Princess (Fang Ying). On the wedding night, Feng-hsiao revealed the truth to the Princess...

Lily Ho and Jimmy Lin Chong operate a travel agency specializing in Southeast Asian holidays, Tropicana Interlude. Movie queen Ivy Ling Po is ideally cast as a male scholar in this historical Huangmei Opera romance. It’s a tragic love story between the scholar and a local beauty (played by Fang Ying). He polishes mirrors as a pretext to get closer to his love, who signals her approval by tossing him a bunch of lichees. From that point on the course of true love proves operatically rocky, complete with murder and suicide.

Kau Yuk-kuen is delivered to safety by the mythical condor with one of the tripods while her foster father, Ku, continues the fight until his last breath. The Diary of a Husband serves as an illustration for the arrival of the white-collar economy, in which the extended family is replaced by the smaller nuclear family. It is a story about four pals who work at the same office, which, like other white-collar workplaces, has become the men's primary site of life, where livings are made and friendships fostered. Meanwhile, their wives have fostered something of their own—a brigade to catch cheating husbands. Much comedy is then generated by the cat-and-mouse game between the men and the women...The battle line drawn here between the sexes remains for years, to the extent that this very same story has been retold many times in Hong Kong films, including Men Suddenly in Black, the 2003 Pang Ho-cheung film with a similar Chinese title.

This is an adaptation of the folk story, “Jin Yu Nu beats her heartless groom with a cane”. Jin Yu Nu, a beggar’s daughter, is a beautiful and kind girl. On a snowy day she saves the life of a poor scholar, Mo Ji. When Mo recovers, he marries Jin with love and gratitude. Mo wins the third place in the imperial examinations, but now he is looked down upon because his wife is a beggar's daughter. Extremely embarrassed and ashamed, Mo wants to divorce but has no excuse. Jin then jumps into the river and Mo has deep regrets but it is too late. Later, Mo’s senior Ambassador Lin appreciates his talents and wants to marry him his daughter. On the wedding night, the bride orders Mo to kneel in her room and beats him hard with a cane. Not until then does Mo know his bride is actually Jin, who has been saved by Lin. At the end, Lin knows Jin still loves Mo and helps the couple reunite.
