Granite Spring

Fiancées Alberto and Vittoria lead a quiet life, despite Alberto's good-for-nothing friends always dragging him into their petty thefts. The group falls under the spell of the mysterious Monsieur Le Blanc, a shady character who has just came into town, and offers them a fair amount of money and drugs to rob an armored truck. It's a dangerous job and it'll be Alberto who'll pay the ultimate price. His father then enters the picture, determined to get revenge on Le Blanc and his associates.

Panorama Roma

The Panorama series started in 2004 with Rome. The first site of the project is Piazza del Popolo, a natural stage set in continuous motion where the camera has been set up, like the minute hand of a clock, to complete a 360° revolution over the course of an hour. The result is an extra–ordinary temporal flux, whereby 8 hours of film have been accelerated to a 1:20 ratio, resulting in 24 minutes of time–lapse video. The camera’s eye gradually discovers the site’s hidden identity, encountering strange narcoleptic beings who sleep, stare, act and inhabit the architecture and send mysterious signals while oblivious pedestrians flash precipitously by. The performers move through a parallel temporal landscape in which they experience the dimension of permanence. This flux is charged with visions and omens in which other possibilities of life take form.

J'Ecoute!

Filmed on the set of Quei loro incontri, a few months before Daničle Huillet's death. Giulio Bursi, who had been Jean-Marie Straub and Daničle Huillet's assistant for several years, shows us the set, the preparation of the shots, the actors' rehearsals, the two filmmakers' careful attention to every aspect of the shoot, the succession of takes, the search for light, the unexpected moments, the dead moments, the waiting. A historical document of the two filmmakers filmed with a small handheld camera.
