Casebook of Dandy Sashichi: Six Famous Beauties

Famed detective Dandy Sashichi tries to solve who's behind the serial murders of six beautiful women under the aegis of local showman Ibaragiya. The film opens with the sextet humiliating a respected painter's portraits of them, driving the man to a sus­picious suicide. Later, while celebrating his son's impending marriage into a wealthy family, Ibaragiya releases six pigeons from a pleasure boat, each with a rolled up drawing of one of the beauties tied to their legs. He offers a cash reward to whomever recovers the pictures, but they instead become death notices of which of the six are next to die.

Queen of the China Sea

Rika, a manageress of a night club is about to be arrested on suspicion of smuggling. However, she escapes through the assistance rendered her by First Lieutenant Yokoyama of the Japanese Naval Commander's Office. After the end of war, Yokoyama plans to escape from riot-ridden Amoy and finally succeeds with the help of Rika to whom he gives a destroyer. Rika is actually the leader of a gang of pirates, and plans to rule the East China Sea by crushing Banryu, her rival.

Aboard a ship connecting Kyoto and Osaka, Osan was pickpocketed by a sham blind biwa player. A man who looked like a merchant retrieved the wallet for her. Osan was a woman being sold off for the sake of her yakuza-like brother, Nin'kichi. The man in the guise of a merchant turned out to be the Rat Thief, Jirokichi, the infamous thief of Edo. Due to this chance encounter, the two ended up staying at the same hot spring inn. However, one morning, as Jirokichi was about to leave alone, Osan, with the intuition of a smitten woman, confessed she knew he was the famed Rat Thief.

In August 1945, after the Japanese surrendered, the New Fourth Army was ordered to move north of the Yangtze River, but was ambushed by the Kuomintang reactionaries on the way. Column instructor Zhou Qiang (played by Pan Wenzhan), machine gunner Lao Shen (played by Jin Yan) and health worker Yang Yuwen (played by Zhang Zheng) were outnumbered and unfortunately captured in order to cover the retreat of the sick and wounded. During the escort, Zhou Qiang and others, with the help of everyone, killed the enemy squad leader (played by Dong Lin) and led the others to successfully escape. They re-armed themselves with captured weapons, fought guerrillas with the enemy in Siming Mountain, and mobilized the surrounding people to consolidate their own strength.
