The Stone Merchant

The Merchant (Harvey Keitel) is a Westerner. A merchant dealing in precious stones from Afganistan and Turkey. He's above suspicion. In truth, the "Stone Merchant" is a Christian convert into Islam. He's rich, cultured, fascinating. Leda (Jane March) is a successful woman who works as Head of the Public Relations for a big company. She's married to Alceo, a professor at the Sapienza University, specialized in the history of terrorist movements. Alceo is on a wheel chair. He lost his legs in the attack to the American Embassy in Nairobi in 1998. Shahid is a terrorist. Now he's planning an attack along the English Channel. Their lives, their destinies cross in Turkey, where Leda and Alceo are on holiday. And the plot will go on to Rome and Turin till the epilogue of the attack on the ferry boat.

The Counting House

Four employees of Island Fisheries come to a sun-scorched, isolated island to negotiate fishing rights with the sullen, paranoid islanders who have good reason to be afraid. The Captives

During their robbery of a nightclub, Matthias Caruana and Kyle Borg kill the son of the owner. While fleeing from the scene with an accomplice, they have a car accident. All three manage to escape from the vehicle just before it bursts into flames but the stolen money is lost in the fire. Dave McBain is at home secretly having an argument on the phone with someone. When he finishes the call, he leaves the house. Now hunted by the police, the three robbers enter McBain's house and take his wife and children, the six-year-old Thomas and sixteen-year-old Alice, as hostages. While the wound that Matthias suffered during the car accident threatens to upset the balance of power within the criminal gang, thereby allowing Kyle, the most violent of the three, to dominate. Problems begin for the hostages.

A creative space, a sort of Renaissance workshop, a factory. A place where the two great friends prepared their great films in Cinecittà, but where they gave the opportunity to many young people to grow and improve their professionalism. After the passing of Ettore Scola and Luciano Ricceri, time at Studio E.L stopped along with many objects that are the memory of almost 40 years of history of our cinema. Before Studio EL closes forever, becoming a museum space inside Cinecittà, we would like to give the objects it contains the value they deserve and tell their stories.
