Inventata da un dio distratto

This film is dedicated to Maria Lai, an artist born in 1919 in Ulassai, Sardinia. Surrounded and inspired by the ogliastra countryside, the cyclopic guardian of plots and landslides, Maria Lai uses inert materials like stone, concrete, asphalt, metal and wood to work old and new legends into librettos of individual works, installations and interventions, thus becoming part of the landscape that calls to her. In making this film the authors have confided in the artist’s role as a spokeperson, and it is as if one is listening to the voice of a wild olive tree - both millenary and contemporary - a voice that knows what to say (and can say whatever it wants) from beyond the boundaries of reality, history, nature and art. As that tree, the artist - confident of her roots - with a sound sense of rhythm and scansion, multiplies big and small stories, just as she did with the bread and fish in Santa Barbara di Ulassai along the way to the country church.

Perugia. For several days now, a serial killer dubbed "The Tongue Master" has been terrorizing the city with a series of heinous crimes. The victims are brutally mutilated—their tongues surgically removed—and their bodies meticulously repositioned as if they were peacefully asleep. Maurizio Modesti, an aspiring mystery novelist searching for inspiration for his next book, becomes deeply involved in the investigation led by his long-time friend, Police Commissioner Marco Giacchera. Meanwhile, Mara Fraticelli, a determined crime reporter on a quest for the truth, conducts her own parallel investigation. Her path will inevitably intertwine with the official police inquiry, leading them into the dark heart of the mystery.

Klezmer derives from the Hebrew words "Kley Zemer", which refer to the musical instruments (generally, the violin and stringed instruments in general and the clarinet) used to play the traditional music of Eastern European Jews from the XVIth century on. Moni's StageOrchestra is inspired by that music, by its constant change of tones and by the spirit which pervades it, from the sorrowful, monochord which revives the spirit of a synagogue prayer to the explosive joy of songs and dance music created for happier occasions. It is not a faithful reprise of klezmer music or a philological revisitation we propose here, but rather a free use, which maintains the climate and the imprint of several centuries of musical practice, born and developed in close proximity with the Polish, Czech and Byelorussian civilizations and enriched by a fertile exchange with the musical culture of that other diasporic population of Europe, the Gypsy people.

I misteri di Marte - L'esplorazione del pianeta rosso

"The ancient history of the two planets is similar in many ways, and it is very fascinating that in the course of evolution the two worlds have taken such different paths," explains astrobiology expert Amy Williams of the University of Florida. "If there really is no life on Mars, why isn't there? What has changed? What has happened? Why wouldn't there be? And, if there was in the past, what happened then?" Bellavista

This portrait of a remarkable woman and her unusual environment seems to have a very profound effect on nearly everyone who sees it. The film further strengthens the reputation of veteran documentarian Schreiner, who's quietly and steadily established himself among Europe's most respected practitioners of non-fiction cinema. But the film is by no means an example of an ‘auteur’ imposing his individual vision upon the world. Instead it's a remarkable example of intense collaboration between artist and subject, one so close that such traditional distinctions and labels seem inappropriate.

“It is a material wound in a spiral that pierces time. Images, support for a trip lived alone, worry sliding on the screen, they write their own memory. A document that talks about a place, a memory, a feeling. Space is captured when it is disappearing to become an image. Signs, looks, actions, decompose to slide on the screen. The territory becomes an excuse to talk about yourself, to tell the story of our life. Time, images, sounds, rhythm become an abstract and documentary conception of movement and gaze.” - M. Rousset.

During the same concert the DVD of the same name was recorded and released on the market a few months later. In the press conference that followed the concert, the Roman singer also said she was a bit tired of singing, also due to the pressures in the record industry. So then it was not, because after the Unplugged Giorgia worked on other projects and in 2007 she also released a new album, Stonata.
