Hannes Brahm's life is marked by problems. Not only is he struggling with unemployment, but his marriage is also on the rocks. His wife Claudia also accuses him of not even taking care of their daughter Maria. The situation comes to a head after Maria disappears during a visit to a media market. The parents search for their daughter in panic until Maria suddenly appears on the television and asks Hannes to get her out of the market.

A couple of slackers find an antique dagger and manage to free the gorgeous female warrior that was imprisoned in it by an evil spell. An evil sorcerer is not happy by this turn of events and determines to possess both the blade and the warrior through a sacrificial ceremony. The two heroes manage to rescue the damsel in distress and defeat the wizard and his minions by employing skills mastered through hours of video game play.

Produced and directed by seven Munich Film School students, Honolulu takes place not in Hawaii, but inside of a rural town just outside of Munich, Germany. Several vignettes, lasting approximately 10 to 15 minutes each, are connected by one of the town’s public bus routes, outside of which two men booze the night away while waiting for the bus to make its rounds.

After overseeing major projects as a construction manager for many years and having traveled all over the world, Peter is taking early retirement.
