The final installment in the five-part Cows series is a remarkable example of photo-videography as an art form. Photographs, which over time transform pixel by pixel, pose inconvenient questions about our relationship with animals: Are they merely objects for our consumption? Organic matter we've become disconnected with? Or…?

The manual of mental disorders, the DSM, grows thicker with each new edition. There seem to be more and more psychiatric disorders, notes the maker of #AMiNORMAL, Mika Orr, whose father is a psychiatrist. In eight 12-minute episodes, the series takes a humorous and compassionate look at various disorders. People from all over the world talk openly about their experiences in online interviews, in their own familiar environment. A psychiatrist then explains more about the condition in question. Comic animations keep the documentary light and accessible, and thanks to the diverse backgrounds, genders, and ages of those interviewed, any viewer can find something to identify with. The format of the documentary series raises questions about what normal behavior actually is, and where the dividing line lies between, for example, being not very sex-oriented or having sexual arousal disorder.

Who and what is stirring in Water Lily Split? Children. And their mother. The lapping waves, the sound of crickets, the fire and the bottom of a swimming pool-turned-pond, and a giant shell which brings back memories. In just a few shots, Grégoire Perrier sketches a delicate path leading to Basile and Hortense, brother and sister in their early years, on the brink of language, its emergence, and its invention. He registers the epiphenomena that punctuate their daily lives and offers us vignettes of a childhood that radiates before our eyes, in all its anger, its games, its demands.

Two tropical islands on either side of the Atlantic ocean. One deserted, the other organic. Two trips, twenty years apart. From each one I came back with images. Agua de vinagre is a travel film suspended between these two moments in time. An exploration of my presence through the images, the impossible expectation for an absent person to appear, there in front of the shutter of my camera. A cine-mourning.

Elise Guillaume's "Borderline" parallels the complementary patterns of human and nonhuman forms, from tree limbs, spines and trunks, placing untamed nature adjacent to a clinical medical setting. In May 2016, a new museum dedicated to Palestinian history and culture opened in Ramallah. Inaugurated with no exhibition, the museum remained empty for several months until a first exhibition devoted to Jerusalem was organised. The film takes place over this transition period, during the construction of a dream city, in sharp contrast with a political reality that makes the future prospects for a Palestinian State increasingly hypothetical.

Years after the suicide of my bipolar grandmother, I discover her autobiographical account in which she recounts her experience of mental illness, her sentimental disillusions and her deep loneliness. In search of the truth, I decide to compare his testimony to the family films shot by my grandfather and to the memories of those close to him. To make this film is to make your voice heard, it is to try to order the chaos of its tragic existence, it is to free speech and end the silence in order to continue living.
