Jimmy Orpheus is about a young day labourer at the docks. After a crawl through the late-night bars in the St. Pauli red-light district, he meets a prostitute, for whom he risks life and limb while walking around night-time Hamburg … A love story that is as poetic as it is realistic, with Roland Klick trying out various extravagant editing and camera techniques, such as jump cuts and time-lapse shots, as well as his idea of action movies.

Directed by Walter Felsenstein in 1969, this production of Giuseppe Verdi's classic opera chronicles the tragic tale of Othello, a Moorish general whose inability to control his feelings of mistrust and jealousy lead to his dramatic downfall. The Berlin Komische Oper Chorus and Orchestra provide musical accompaniment throughout the live performance, which stars Hanns Nocker, Christa Noack and Vladimir Bauer.

August 1961. The former Foreign Legionnaire, King, has collected a gang of hooligans, with whom he creates mischief in the GDR. After some careless work on a construction site, an event during which two people lose their lives, they move to a campsite on the Baltic Sea. With sputtering mopeds, loud radios, and occasional outbursts, the gang makes the vacationers' lives living hell. Unfortunately for them, Lieutenant Czernik discovers the connection between them and the accident at the construction site. To stop them from fleeing to West Berlin, Lieutenant Czernik and the police need to arrest them, one at a time, with King as the last.

On the occasion of the »Construction Days« in the autumn of 1969, the Hamburg Building Authority commissioned five HFBK film students to film one Hamburg commercial each. Christian Bau opted for a critical portrait of Osdorfer Born, Hamburg's first large-scale, prefabricated housing estate, which had been built from 1967 by Neue Heimat, SAGA and other housing companies on the western edge of the city. The images, shot on 16mm, were accompanied by interview passages and a text taken from SAGA's housing construction program. The client was less than enthusiastic, the film disappeared into a closet for decades and can now be shown for the first time in the cinema.

A young man who is constantly searching for relics from World War II and idolizes Hitler and Al Capone founds a criminal organization with friends and slides headlong into disaster.

Evelyn, the daughter of American travel agent John P. Hoover and great-grandniece of the famous Viennese dancer Fanny Elßler, is herself a professional dancer. However, unbeknownst to her, her wealthy father is bribing critics and audiences—some with free tickets, others with money. When Evelyn overhears a conversation about her supposedly mediocre talent, she discovers her father's manipulation. She then escapes to Vienna with a tour group organized by her father's company. She hopes to pursue a career as a dancer there—like her famous relative once did.

A NATO maneuver rages around the house and intrudes into their private lives. The roof catches fire and half the house collapses. This short snippet of silent 8 mm film was filmed by Ingrid Oppermann in West-Berlin, possibly close to her apartment in Kurfürstenstraße, where Harun Farocki’s The Words of the Chairman (1967) was shot. The snow that is reflected in the shop window indicates that it must have been the Winter of 1969/70.

On August 12, 1961, eight people in three cars set off for Berlin from Leipzig. They want to go to the West. The initiator is the philistine Spiessack, who drives the others, who have embarked on the adventure with mixed feelings. It becomes a journey with numerous incidents and panic, which causes the different characters to clash. When they finally arrive in Berlin the next day, they are not allowed to cross the border. The only option is to return. At home, Spiessack is met by a policeman in his living room - with the slogan "We'll be back" written on the wall.

Documentary on the assassination of John F. Kennedy

The subtitle of this merry performance is "An Action Text", indicating that the artist's introduction for the vaudeville number was an inflammatory impetus. Export provides precise instructions for the use of a wrapped box of chocolate-covered candy produced by the renowned Viennese company Hofbauer. However, she has not made an advertisement for them and their presentation, but instead, she extols the packqge and confection as a work of art. Severe degradation of the surviving tape further blurs our perceptions.

The film tells the story of Peri, a concentration camp survivor who lives in Tel Aviv and sets out in search of his former fellow sufferer Bach.

Five young, pretty female athletes are training for an international skydiving contest. From heaven they basically fall straight into the arms of five charming young men. Their coach is less than thrilled about the flirtation and urges his athletes to concentrate on the contest. He is convinced that love-making will put the victory to risk and asks them for sexual abstinence. The power of love turns out to be stronger, however, and soon the first love couples find each other.

Marianne, the charming daughter of the "magic king," is engaged to master butcher Oskar. She meets bon vivant Alfred, who is supported by Valerie and makes a living from betting on horse races and other dubious business deals. During a picnic in the Vienna Woods, Marianne falls in love with Alfred and wants to break off her engagement to Oskar. Her father disowns her, Marianne moves in with Alfred and soon has a child by him. Alfred soon tires of Marianne's clinginess and takes the child to his mother in the Wachau region, while Marianne works as a dancer in a variety show. At the lowest point of her humiliation, Marianne returns to her parents' house. Her father forgives her, and Oskar asks for her hand in marriage, despite her having a child with Alfred. A happy ending seems imminent until Marianne learns what has happened in the Wachau region.

Three men plot to assassinate the dictator of their country, but their plan fails and one of them is captured and imprisoned. Even after considerable torture and interrogation, the revolutionary maintains his silence as to the names of his accomplices. Soon he is killed, though no one seems to know who is responsible for his death. Four years later another regime has been established, and a former inmate of the dead revolutionary finds himself in a position of power. He now intends to find out who was responsible for the man's death. After this German tale first took the form of a radio play and then a stage production, character actor Peter Carsten decided to produce this film version.
