Stela, In the Name of the Father

“I’ve been a robber, a thief, a thug. I blew my veins out, I drank, I drank and I fucked chicks. I never stole from the poor. I’m HIV-positive since 16 years. I’m repenting over time. I cleaned myself from my sins. I committed offenses but I never took a human life away. Not yet. Haven’t got an abortion either. These are mortal sins - and as for the others, I paid already. I’ve been the worst of bitches but in this life already I’ve seen the light. My name is Stela, I’m 42 years old and I spent 10 of them in jail. Chaos is my life.”

Du PACS à la PMA, trente ans de combats pour l’égalité des droits

In 1999, the law on the Pacs is voted, allowing homosexuals to become a couple. In 2013, the law on Marriage for All is voted in turn, allowing access to marriage and parenthood for homosexual couples. In 2021, the law on PMA for all, so that homosexual women are no longer discriminated against in access to maternity, is still being debated while deputies and senators are opposed on many articles of the text. More than twenty years separate these three laws, the fruit of three decades of struggle by activists and associations, women and men politicians. From the ravages of AIDS, the first motor of these struggles, to the agitated parliamentary debates around the Pacs, through the demonstrations of the Manif pour tous, this documentary, illustrated with archival images, gives the floor to the actors to retrace the stages, sometimes forgotten, of this history.

The battle of La Plaine

Marseille, a European city like many others. La Plaine, a lively district, a large square, a historic and popular market. A tumultuous battle between, on the one hand, the city council's urban planning services, determined to carry out a major program of "requalification" of the district. On the other hand, a part of the residents, who refuse this gentrification operation, and demand to be associated to the decisions. This epic story lasts 3 years and ends abruptly with the incredible construction of a concrete wall of 2m50 high all around the square. The television of the district, imprinted with the stories of past uprisings, a tool of counter-propaganda throughout this battle, refuses to stop at the report of a defeat and wonders. Summoning the Free Communes of 1871, their joyful and fiery rage, a singular writing takes hold of the fiction. In order to make this collective struggle a victorious human adventure, another way of making the city and the world is envisaged.

Electric Shepherds

Following the Covid-19 pandemic, the French government has decided to introduce Electric Shepherds to minimize contact between humans and farm animals. Drones have replaced all farmers, breeders, and shepherds. This has led to better hygiene standards, considerably fewer contagion risks, and more efficiency in agricultural monitoring. Even traditional small-scale farming has turned into fully automated animal production. Before this decision, closing city farms were considered, Gilles Amar sheepfold: La Bergerie des Malassis was threatened once again. But closing one more farm would have been a stain on the government's reputation. To correspond to its supposed ecological and green politics, the farm is saved but led by drones. In drone exploitation, Gilles’ words are still written and seem to be the only trace of human-being.
