17 year old naïve country girl Emiko Yamauchi has a hash wakeup call when she’s welcomed to Tokyo by a bunch of rapey hoods. Fast forward past the opening credits and we have her working in Mitsuko Mori’s Shinjuku girlie bar managed by manager/pimp Takeo Chii, who is dreaming of making it big once the plan comes together. Meanwhile she gets romantically involved with young chap Seiji Sawada who’s trying to make it as a bike racer.

Located on Kanagawa Prefecture’s Miura Peninsula, Kikuna bustles with beachgoers in the summer. In October, the Miura Shirayama Shrine holds an annual festival, the Ameya dance, which has a history extending to the late Edo Period. Young men dressed in female garb perform dances including the shiramatsu konaya, komori, and godanme. The film emphasizes the wild aspect of these performing arts birthed by struggling farmers and fishermen.

Car mechanic Yuya (Shinya Fubuki) dreams of becoming a race driver. His daily routine – working with cars, and collecting pictures of his idol Niki Lauda – is interrupted by the appearance of an exotic girl (Mei Yokomoto) and troublesome car maniacs.

While working for NHK as a 16mm film cameraman, Suzuki traveled to various parts of the country, particularly for shooting on location for rural programs and youth programs. In between filming shows he captured the scenery from a completely personal perspective, starting to think about the meaning of the landscapes he encountered.

A man who was a star cyclist is forced to retire after an accident during a race. Due to his pride as a star cyclist, he doesn't work and just hangs around, enjoying his girlfriend's income, but when his girlfriend's savings eventually run out and he becomes anxious, he accepts an invitation from a yakuza who claims to be his fan, and starts gambling, getting into a lot of debt. To repay the debt, the yakuza introduces him to a job where he and his girlfriend perform a black and white show in a tatami room. The black and white show of a former star cyclist becomes popular, and they perform four or five times a day. However, that alone does not reduce his debt, and due to physical strain, the man develops erectile dysfunction. When this happens, the yakuza starts forcing her to perform sex with customers, and she has no choice but to comply, but the man can no longer bear to see himself sinking so low, so he takes her hand and tries to escape from the yakuza...
