In the near future a documentarist captures a great tragedy while making a story about an experimental theatre that uses technology to immerse audience in the consciousness of actors on stage

Once upon a time, 20 years ago, the rock band "Uncle Alik" rattled all over the country, and its leader, Alik, enjoyed his fame. Now no one remembers them, and the former celebrities work part-time at weddings, or in the club "Old Tram", or even just - in the underpass. But one day Alik meets his old acquaintance Misha, who offers to organize his concerts in America. Everything is fine, but there's only one trouble - Alik is divorced, and it is very hard to get a visa being unmarried. Misha suggests that Alik urgently find a wife. At the same time, a nice English teacher Lyalya is being interviewed by her friend's firm, which helps educated girls find prestigious jobs. Lyalya is good for absolutely everything, except one thing: she is not married...

The film is based on the second book from the Adventures of Erast Petrovich Fandorin series of novels written by the Russian author Boris Akunin. The film takes place in 1877 during the Russian-Turkish war. Erast Fandorin has just escaped from Turkish prison and is trying to get on the Russian side as soon as possible to give important information about the upcoming attack of the enemy. On his way he meets Varvara Suvorova, a young lady who is going to see her fiancée - a soldier of the Russian army. Erast also knows that there is a spy somewhere in the Russian army, everyone is under suspicion.

They managed to make historical films with documentary accuracy. Icelandic sagas and the works of Oriental travelers, Byzantine books and, of course, ancient Russian chronicles were studied and researched. The oldest dated chronicle is kept in the Russian National Library in St. Petersburg. It was these texts that formed the basis of the script. Five built cities, hand—sewn costumes, forged weapons, a Viking ship — a drakkar — built according to the drawings of that time, complex computer graphics - all in order for the viewer to fully immerse himself in the atmosphere of the early Middle Ages of the Viking film.

He gradually starts to comprehend Christ’s message, but feels that the apostles are blindly following their teacher. Judas argues with them, and tries to defend his right to divine the truth of God. But when he fails to make them understand, he realizes that Christ’s teachings may sink into oblivion without benefiting humanity. His solution is to betray Christ. “By killing a man, have I not saved a God?”

Kicked out he wanders with another conscript- a failed actor turned postman. The postman is deafened by a shell explosion. They meet their Russian equivalents, others as bad at killing as they are, while other Russians and Germans kill one another around them.

Professor Eugenius finds both his career and secret friendship with the Fixies in danger when his college sweetheart, Erica, threatens to reveal that Eugenius only beat her out of the University’s Grand Prize in 3D Printing because Fixies were secretly helping him. Erica challenges Eugenius to a rematch to show the world who the better inventor really is!
