Berliner Bettwurst

In this sequel to Die Bettwurst, Dietmar and Luzi are a somewhat unorthodox couple, who live and fight with tremendous enthusiasm. The unusual nature of their liaison is signalled by the fact that Dietmar is bisexual and is completely unable to remain faithful to Luzi. Dietmar also has his own, personal dialect of German. Luzi, on the other hand, is coziness personified. No matter, in this film they get married at the Memorial Church in Berlin. Infuriated at his playing around, Luzi briefly splits up with him, but when her dog dies of poisoning, he is there to comfort her.

Sexualerziehung im 10. Schuljahr: Empfängnisverhütung

Contraception is explained as part of biology lessons in year 10. The lesson begins with the teacher explaining the hormonal mode of action of oestrogen and progestogen, whose explanations are supplemented by intermittent images of the schematic diagram on the blackboard. Prompted by questions from the pupils, the teacher then goes into the production of the corpus luteum and explains its function. She then discusses the effect of the 'pill' as an ovulation inhibitor on the female organism. She explains that the preparations absorb the hormone progestin, which prevents further follicle maturation. Further questions are asked about other contraceptive methods. The teacher first explains the Knaus-Ogino method and then talks about the mechanical contraceptive concepts of condoms and pessaries. Finally, the chemical methods and 'coitus interruptus' are discussed as further options for preventing pregnancy.

Union der festen Hand

Erik Reger’s roman à clef examines the development of the Rhineland industrial region from 1918 to 1928, using the Risch-Zander steelworks as a case study: Strikes, the Emperor’s visit, revolution, workers’ and soldiers’ councils, the occupation of the Ruhr, the fighting following the Kapp Putsch, and inflation characterize the desperate situation of the industrial proletariat. The content cannot be retold: it is not about individuals, but at best about sociologically balanced specimens of a species. It is about the sociocultural complex of the Ruhr region, about heavy industry as its organizing center; it is about those involved, from the laborers to the managers; and finally, about the political parties, from the KPD to the NSDAP.

...Remote..... Remote....

With sometimes painful directness, Valie Export conducts a psychological investigation of the body in this film performance, externalizes an internal state. In front of a police photo showing two children who were sexually abused by their parents, she tortuously cuts into her cuticles until blood drips into a bowl of milk on her lap. On top of the symbolic plane of blood and milk, the physical effect on the viewer of her destructive act of self-mutilation is extreme.
