A mystery caper of devilish fun, Temptress Of A Thousand Faces proves a femme fatale can match any man in wickedness. A mysterious thief has been committing crimes across the city. Always disguised and ever elusive, woman detective Chi Ying cannot find any clues for a good lead. But her reporter boyfriend Yu Ta is always supportive and understanding. Reversing the standard role stereotypes, it is the man here who then becomes the damsel (or dude as the case may be) in distress. Constantly frustrating her police woman foil, the temptress manages to make a game of outwitting her nemesis.

Gangster Pang Tin-tak runs an underground casino operated under the guise of the Blue Nightclub. The fearless and cagey Fung Kim-ching and the adept professional To Yuet-hung strut their stuff on the poker table and catch the eye of the boss. Enlisted as his trusted aide, To the undercover officer carefully cloaks her identity to conduct a criminal investigation but has to stop in the light of Pang’s growing suspicion. The raid led by Detective Chan is successfully foiled by the sly gangster, who unmasks the spy and holds her captive together with Chan. Fung frees the captives before he joins Pang for his transactions by the sea. Pointing a pistol at the gangster, Fung identifies himself as the leader of the Interpol anti-drugs squad as the gang members are handcuffed and led away by To and her team.

The Red Bat Apartment

On her way home from Lan Sin Restaurant, Liang Li-chin is horrified to have beheld a man's body inside a private hired-car. But when she explains what she has seen to her fiance Hu Ming-lin at his Red Bat Apartment, she is no longer sure whether it was a drunkard or a corpse. But Hu is arrested by the Police as the suspected murderer of his boss Chia Lei on certain material evidences: a/ Hu's visiting card has been found near the corpse; b/ the scarf which strangled Chia to death belongs to Hu as there are his initials M. L; and c/ he has been seen to have quarreled with Chia. But somehow Hu denies he has killed Chia. Liang now recalls that she has seen a strange figure, a man, that night in the car. She is sure he was not Hu, but the Police Inspector, is not a bit convinced, especially because of her relation with the suspect, Hu. Liang feels she must act fast, if she is going to save her fiance's neck.

The Violet Girl

Working as a telephone operator on the nightshift, David Lau received some calls from a woman for a David and agrees to a blind date. Wearing a violet on his lapel, David mistakes someone else for his date. Jennie Lee, a stranger, comes calling at the hotel, addressing a bewildered David with an intimacy that is familiar and awkward. Hong Kong might be enjoying unprecedented prosperity in the late 1960s, but the poverty-stricken stories of the Tramp remain appealing. Cheng Kwun-min, veteran character actor best known in the era of Cantonese cinema as Elvis of the East, builds on his newfound stardom in the television era by teaming up with fellow members of the popular variety show Enjoy Yourself Tonight to stage this Chaplin redux. The film offers several clever duplications of Chaplin's gags and Cheng's Charlie retains much of the Tramp's essence, in both mannerisms and the determination to remain dignified despite poor social standings. Cheng was so fond of playing the character he celebrated the 30th anniversary of his showbiz life with another turn as the Tramp, in Charlie Catches the Cat (1969).

A member of the Red Peony troupe, singer Tang Pei Hua (Yeh Feng) is renowned for her beautiful voice and appearances. Her beauty, however, invites the unwanted attentions of cruel and lecherous warlord Cao Lin (Zeng Mei). In order to escape Cao's grasp, Tang and her lover Lin Ke Qiang (Chin Han) decide to run away to the south where they can live freely. But their plan is uncovered by Cao, and Lin gets captured. In order to save Lin, Tang must sacrifice herself and entertain Japanese guests at a banquet, throwing herself into danger's way.

Julie Yeh Feng stars as Hsiu Hsiu, a beautiful singing shepherdess who falls head over heels in love with a handsome boatman named Liu Ta Lung. Unfortunately, she can't afford to marry her new beau because her father has racked up numerous debts due to his uncontrollable gambling addiction. And to make matters even more complicated, there's a rival suitor who promises to pay off all of her no-good father's debts on the condition that he is given Hsiu Hsiu's hand in marriage. She initially declines his offer, but starts to get jealous when she sees Ta Lung getting a little too close for comfort with another woman. In retaliation, she starts flirting with her possible benefactor/husband-to-be. But what Hsiu Hsiu doesn't know is that her jealousy isn't based on any actual unfaithfulness, but on an unfortunate misunderstanding!

Sau-chen goes out with the tenant Wong Chun-ching over the protests of her class-conscious parents Eighth Uncle and his wife. To foot the medical bills of his mother, Sau-chen works as a promoter at the Products Expo for Lung Wah Pharmacy and attracts the unwanted attention of the boss Chin Hoi-ngan. Chin desires the woman as a concubine. Acting on the advice of his subordinate Chiu Chik, the boss invents a phantom son and proposes marriage with the offer of a handsome dowry. The employee Wong, short of cash and needs money fast, is drafted as his saviour to meet the parents when the plot is duly exposed. Teaming up with his tenants, Eighth Uncle invites the henpecked husband's termagant wife along and causes a scene. In gratitude of their efforts, the landlord and his wife give blessings to their daughter and her lover.

Some 40 years ago when warlords rode rough-shod over the Chinese people, circus acrobat Pao Te-cheng took to the hills and began robbing the rich to help the poor.
