Frau Luna

Fritz Steppke and his friends Lämmermeier and Pannecke fly to the moon in a steerable balloon. Mrs. Pusebach has also joined the adventurous traveling party. She considers flying to the moon less dangerous than losing sight of her Pannecke. On the moon, the four travelers from Berlin are given a rather unfriendly welcome by Theophil, the almighty ruler of Frau Luna's realm. Only when he recognizes Frau Pusebach as the woman he tried to win over during his last escapade on Earth does he become more approachable and lead the guests into Frau Luna's state room. The beautiful ruler of the moon sees the visit as a welcome change, especially since she is thoroughly fed up with the advances of her lover, Prince Sternschnuppe. She immediately falls in love with Steppke, but his thoughts are with his bride Mariechen, whom he left behind in Berlin. So they all decide to take a trip to Earth ...

Faust

In 1957 Gustaf Gründgens staged a new production of Goethe's Faust in which he once again played Mephisto, a part he had played since 1932. The brilliant production was a huge success and ran for a couple of years. In 1959 Peter Gorski captured the performance on film in his directorial film debut. Basically it is a registration of the production, but Gorksi did manage to accentuate the details of the acting by using enough medium and close-up shots which give a view on the acting you normally would not able to see in a theater.

Perhaps the most popular ballet video ever released, this version of Tchaikovsky's beloved work stars one of the most famous classical dance partnerships of all time, Rudolf Nureyev and Margot Fonteyn. Nureyev choreographed this production for the Vienna State Opera Ballet. Two icons of 20th-century dance in magnificent form. Ballet authority John Lanchbery, former music director of the Sadler's Wells and Royal Ballet companies, as well as of American Ballet Theatre and Australian Ballet, conducts the Vienna Symphony Orchestra in Tchaikovsky's enchanting score.

Ski-Faszination

With his first film "Skifascination", Willy Bogner junior composed something unprecedented: a ski symphony of ski races, sketches and ski ballet. The world had never seen such an aesthetic combination of choreographed ski turns, brightly colored ski suits and emotional music in 1966! Shot in Ultrascope in the mountains around St. Moritz, the idea, script, production and camera shots were all the work of Willy Bogner. The spectacular images opened up completely new perspectives on skiing, which at the time was primarily seen as a high-speed sport. Willy added a romantic touch to skiing by combining it with beauty, harmony and fun. He didn't even need a continuous plot - snow, mountains and dancing on two boards were all he needed as the main characters!

Schwarzwaldmädel

In the fictional Black Forest village of Sankt Christoph, everyone in town shuns Bärbele. According to the gossips, her father is said to have set fire to the “Blauer Ochse” years ago. Dressed in the most beautiful traditional costume, she wants to attend the dance festival on St. Cecilia’s Day. The venerable, no-longer-young cathedral music director Blasius Römer, who secretly loves Bärbele—who helps out as a housekeeper for her aunt at his home—lends her the showpiece of his collection.
