Briga, Mulher e Samba

Marcelino, a country bumpkin, comes from the countryside to try his luck in Rio de Janeiro. His uncle Simão, a taxi driver and resident of a favela with Sofia, comes to greet him at the train station. A neighbor, Tereza, takes an interest in the newcomer. At the pier, the criminal Zé receives a package and is pursued by police. Mira Diler performs at the Caverna nightclub. In her dressing room, the criminal Zé is found, injured and without the package. Valentino complains about the police action that is disrupting his "business." Marcelino still hasn't found work; at the same time, he tries unsuccessfully to sell his compositions. He begins helping his uncle as a driver, but puts his own worries first: he goes to the nightclub looking for Mira, but finds himself caught up in Valentino's schemes.

Lampião's gang raids a farm just as the wedding of Antônio Saraiva and the Baroness's goddaughter is being prepared. In the shootout, Lampião's brother, Ezequiel, is killed, and in revenge, Lampião burns the Baroness alive and orders the bride to be beaten. Upon arriving at the farm, Antônio discovers everything and vows to follow the gang's footsteps to hell. The cangaceiros continue their atrocities, robbing, killing, and looting, until a priest places a curse on Lampião. The curse transforms into the avenging figure of Antônio, who acquires supernatural powers. He meets Lampião during Maria Bonita's birthday party, and a life-or-death duel ensues.

A young woman from high society decides to raffle herself to raise money to complete the construction of a hospital, a social project she has dedicated herself to. She takes a nude photograph, orders several copies made, which are numbered and sold. The plan was initially intended to be limited to those close to her, and various measures were taken to ensure the photograph would not be seen by a limited circle. However, these measures prove unsatisfactory, and soon the raffle goes beyond the limits controlled by its promoter. The event becomes the talk of the town, and the raffle photos are sold and voraciously purchased everywhere on the streets, in universities, offices, and stores.

Bonga, o Vagabundo

Bonga is a bum who lives on the streets, alone and free, with no commitments, except for pulling off naive scams to get food. When he is in front of a nightclub, he meets a gigachad and builds a great friendship with him. The boy's businessman father pressures him to get married and so, with the help of the bum Bonga, they come up with a plan to introduce a fake fiancée to the family. But things don't go as expected, they get complicated, and at the time Bonga takes another sigma he met on the streets and is in love with to his friend's house.

Trilogy of Terror

An anthology divided in three segments, helmed by three of the most important Brazilian directors of the 20th century. A mother becomes involved with black magic and offers a virgin woman to the Devil in exchange for curing the illness of her only son. A poor laborer is the only man in the village with courage to face a group of guerrilheiros ("guerrilla ghosts") that haunt the minds of the locals. A young man is afflicted by fear of reptiles and spiders and the fear of being buried alive. When he undergoes a shocking event, he becomes unresponsive and is mistakenly buried, only to revive in the coffin after burial.

The Guns

A group of armed soldiers is sent to the Northeast of Brazil in an attempt to stop a famine-struck population from invading and stealing a food deposit in the dry backlands. While the alienation and insanity of people driven to hallucination by their latent hunger is conducted by the predictions of a religious figure, a truck driver observes the situation and remains torn between his friendship with the soldiers and his revolt against the lack of government action in fighting the misery that lingers over the region.

The Hour and Turn of Augusto Matraga
