Sa Rafale

"Guillaume is my friend. He's schizophrenic. He has been hospitalized four times. In 2015, Guillaume left Paris to dedicate himself to painting. Then on March 1st, 2020, I too was admitted to psychiatric care. While there, I take notes on my observations and conversations. I think about Guillaume. When I get discharged, we catch up. He wants to make a movie with me. I'd wanted to make one about my experience in hospital getting to know the other patients. I tell him my idea, and he's excited to do it. On August 1st, I go to meet him."

Blood, Sweat and Sugar

Sugar is sweet, seductive, addictive - but built on human suffering. This feature-length reveals how an enticing luxury became the engine of a global system powered by slavery, exploitation and environmental destruction, a legacy still shaping the world today. From the 19th-century slave plantations to modern refineries in the Dominican Republic, Brazil, Reunion, India, South Africa and Europe, the series traces how sugar fuelled colonial empires, drove some of the worst aspects of international trade and commerce, and left deep social and ecological scars that are still present in labour abuses and exhausted landscapes today.

Diary of Eve’s Land

Diary of Eve’s Land draws from a series of video interviews Kyoko Kasuya conducted in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in 2023. Through social media, she invited women to participate in the project, ultimately bringing together five individuals from diverse backgrounds: a doctor, a psychologist, a medical student, an IT professional, and an immigrant studying at an online university. Against the backdrop of Saudi Arabia’s sweeping societal transformation under the Vision 2030 government initiative, the work captures candid testimonies and everyday footage of women navigating the tensions between societal expectations and their personal aspirations.

Laura Bachman: Trouble With Marion Barbeau and Félix Kysyl

With Trouble, choreographer Laura Bachman, dancer Marion Barbeau, and actor Félix Kysyl explore the boundaries of touch and male-female relationships, between violence and emancipation. Trouble, Laura Bachman's first choreographic film, explores with great intensity all the paradoxes of physical contact. In this hybrid work inspired by the show Ne Me Touchez Pas, the body is not only an instrument of movement, but a battlefield, a space where domination, resistance, and then rebirth are played out. At the heart of this film is a duo formed by Marion Barbeau, prima ballerina at the Paris Opera and actress revealed by Cédric Klapisch's En Corps, and Félix Kysyl, actor nominated for a César Award in 2025 in the category of Best Male Newcomer for Miséricorde. These two protagonists give substance to a literally visceral performance, where skin, gazes, and breath invade everything.
