In 2013, Mario Colonel photographed the nomads of the Kham mountains, a region in eastern Tibet. Near a monastery, he encountered a little girl on a pilgrimage with her family. The photograph he took of this young nomad quickly became iconic; it evokes a powerful emotion, thanks to the beauty and strength emanating from her gaze. He exhibited it in his gallery in Chamonix and sold it regularly. Magazines bought it for their covers. Eventually, it slipped from his grasp. In 2017, Mario wanted to find this little girl to tell her the story behind the image and share it with her. He decided to return to Kham with the photograph in hand to find Droma, whose first name was all he knew. This film retraces this quest in this mountainous region, this human adventure filled with encounters and original, endearing characters, far removed from idealized images.

As a portrait of a housing project with astonishing shapes (La Maladrerie near Paris), SONGS NEXT DOOR by Flavie Pinatel is a documentary of a different kind, since the protagonists express themselves through songs and not through speech. Implicitly, Flavie describes poetically how people live together in France in 2016.

No one imagined another race with a new development as captivating as 2016, but it was: Toyota lost their cars one by one in incredible circumstances. Porsche lost their solid lead when their cutting-edge car abandoned, with André Lotterer at the wheel, at the end of the Hunaudières. A Chinese LMP2 from actor and star Jackie Chan’s team was in the lead 2 hours from the finishing line. The second official Porsche made an amazing comeback in the last hour taking the trio Bamber-Bernhard-Hartley to victory. 2017 is in the annals as an action-packed, thrilling battle in each category: LMP2: 2nd place in the general classification and class victory for Jackie Chan Racing. GT PRO: Aston Martin’s victory in the last lap, beating Corvette. Experience the mechanical and human adventure from the inside. Relive all the highlights and comebacks with commentary and interviews and spectacular images.

The "Uberisation" of the world is upon us, as we’re all aware. But it might be only a foretaste of what awaits us in the near future: will it be an unprecedented disruption in the history of mankind or quite simply the end of most of the working population? Unlike the industrial changes of the last two centuries, the huge shift of the 21st century deals with the brain, and its playground is the services and tertiary sectors. What will the consequences be for employment over the next ten years? "A Jobless World?" offers an investigation into the genesis of this new world.

What if the World Trade Center attacks could have been thwarted? This is one of the theories put forward by Bill Binney, former technical director of the US National Security Agency (NSA), who resigned after 9/11. Long before Edward Snowden, he denounced the intelligence services' inadequate methods in the fight against terrorism, particularly the massive collection of data. Drowned in a continuous flow of information, analysts are unable to exploit the data quickly. In the 1990s, a program called "ThinThread," implemented by the NSA, was supposed to allow targeted searches by focusing solely on useful metadata for tracing the communications of suspicious individuals. But a few weeks before the 9/11 attack, the project was abandoned in favor of private financial interests. In the United States, the surveillance market is thus 80% owned by private companies.

French author Sylvain Tesson pays tribute to the heroes of the Russian Revolution as he crosses the Pamir mountain range in Tajikistan, which boasts a multitude of peaks at more than 7,000m. They will have the occasion to look back on some of the major figures and events of the Revolution. Lenin Peak, Revolution Peak, Karl Marx Peak, and also the October Glacier and the Soviet Officer range – all names which evoke the Revolution in these remarkable yet little-known locations. He is accompanied by two friends, author and lover of all things Russian, Cédric Gras, and the former Soviet mountaineering instructor, Nicolay Taran. Along the way, the author and his traveling companions observe the traces left by the former USSR on daily life here, and they listen to the memories of the populations who live in the Pamirs, whether Kyrgyz nomads on the high plateaus or Ismailis in the valleys. For Sylvain Tesson, the journey will serve as a source of inspiration for his future writing.
