Vibrations from Gaza

Vibrations from Gaza offers a glimpse into the experiences of Deaf children in the colonized and confined coastal territory of Gaza, Palestine. Born and raised under siege and frequent onslaughts these children, including Amani, Musa, Israa, and others, provide vivid accounts of their encounter of bombardment and the constant presence of drones in their sky. The children describe their perceptions of missile strikes through sensing vibrations in the air, trembling of the ground, and the resonance of collapsing buildings. The film also questions whether the deafness of these children is a natural or a consequence of Israel’s use of sonic weaponry, such as sonic booms.

song of the holy fire

Polish land taking in the Jewish dead. Beneath the streets of Warsaw, under the garden of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, are the lost writings of The Ash Kodesh (the holy fire), Rabbi Klonimus Kalmish Szapiro, a Chassidic master who was imprisoned in the Warsaw Ghetto. His lost aphorisms float through the hallowed trees and shadow architectures that sheltered jewish fugitives during the Shoah. In the forests, unmarked graves await commemoration; through glitch and balagan we are pulled into subterranean landscapes that emerge as fragmented archives of silence.

La fonceuse

A short film about two queer people, Ratel who is very much in her head, busy reading people, and Nisha who is mysteriously familiar with Ratel. The two meet stuck in an escalator which seems infinite. Everybody walks a certain way, some stroll, some fast, and some even stop constantly either lost or contemplative. For Ratel, it says a lot about people and this is something that crosses her mind a lot. While she walks up an endless stairway, she stops and meets someone who makes her doubt how she perceives the world.
