Ravelrig Riding for the Disabled

Elaine Jeffries, Chairperson of Ravelrig RDA, speaks to a group of Edinburgh College students about the organisation's history, its goals, and the importance of inclusive activities in today's society. Volunteer Lynn shares her experience, motivation, and involvement within the organisation. The film also follows Rachael, a participant and horse rider, exploring how her involvement has positively impacted her life and the lives of other members. More than a film about physical activity, this documentary highlights how community, inclusion, and shared purpose create a safe and supportive space for those who need it, and how everyone has the power to make a difference.

Refugee Stories

Travel to Kakuma Refugee Camp in northwestern Kenya, one the world's biggest refugee camps and home to nearly 300,000 people. In an investigation into the realities of long-term displacement, the film follows five refugees representing different income levels within the camp: from Rose, among the poorest households, to Maker, one of the better-off residents. Each protagonist shares their story in their own words, offering intimate portraits of work, family life, ambition, and survival. By focusing on representative lives, Refugee Stories challenges dominant media narratives that depict refugees only in extreme situations, revealing the quiet inequalities that shape daily existence and determine what people can eat, learn, hope for, and plan.

The Bible. So What?

The Bible. So What? aims to provoke and address the kinds of questions a spectator might have about the Bible, which, although frequently overlooked, has shaped the moral, legal and cultural foundation of the Western world for the past 1,600 years. I aim to challenge the postmodern relativist impulse to find new meanings as I try to reorient the spectator towards the ‘grand narrative’ of the Bible. By reading it themselves, viewers may discover a deeper sense of meaning, purpose, personal significance, direction and ultimate truth in the Christian gospel, a personally meaningful metanarrative grounded in history, tradition and revelation. Although I present a single perspective due to the time constraints of my brief, the counterargument to my film is already present, as misrepresentations of the Christian faith frequently obscure and corrupt public impressions of the Bible. Therefore, I want to draw the focus back to the Bible, what it says, and show that it is worth reading.
