In the Name of the Father

A Hasidic True Crime Story. An astounding 300.000 people attended the funeral of Rabbi Schik - an admired American ultra-Orthodox Rabbi. Unbeknownst to his followers, Rabbi Schik was also the leader of a transatlantic crime organization which established an extreme and segregated cult spanning between Brooklyn and Israel. While female members were forced into underage marriages and sustained sexual assaults, the money was flowing into the Rabbi’s own pockets. This corrupt culture prevailed for decades, with no one ever daring to expose the painful truth – until now.

Freddie

Freddie Mercury was known for his flamboyant stage persona and four-octave vocal range - the lead singer of Queen defied the conventions of a typical rock frontman. He paved the way for many contemporary artists to have a more confident and theatrical act which indelibly shaped the next generation of pop and rock music. From working as a baggage handler at Heathrow airport to hiding his HIV diagnosis from the public until just before his death, Mercury's life was filled with adventure, publicity, and perhaps above all, a clear duality. He was both flamboyant and shy, outspoken and intensely private. The illness that claimed his life could never have defined Freddie, and now, years later, his legacy is greater than he could have ever imagined.

Dulcinea

“Dulcinea”, a still image film, gravitates around the life and political trajectory of Dulcinea Bellido: a feminist, communist and revolutionary woman who founded the first feminist mass organization during the Franco regime, therefore paving the way for the emergence of the feminist movement in late Francoism and the Spanish Transition to democracy. Bellido’s biographical account, her vital and political experience, acts as a narrative thread to problematize and understand the emergence of feminist thought and its political mobilization in the framework of the struggle led by the Communist Party of Spain — PCE against Franco’s dictatorship.
